I never thought about it, but that's a pretty good idea, actually.

I know the OT is supposed to be a sort of dark ages for the galaxy, but for Christ's sake, if they can make X-wings, they should at least be able to replicate the graphics capability of a Super Nintendo.

Some of the other 'bad ANH graphics' are still okay in my book, but yyyyeah, the readout at Yavin Base could do with an update.

Spooky, was just thinking to myself last nite that they should do that. Makes sense if they did update those graphics, especially as in ROTJ they seem to have graphics almost as good as in AOTC.

 

*Cough* But red is bad guys...


JK... Yeah, I guess they could do that...

 

I actually like the current coleco vision graphics.

Actually, I think it has more to do with aesthetics than technology. Those graphics even in TPM and AOTC are not super nintendo-ish, they are simply more colorful & brighter cpmpared to the OT, our most advanced graphics on our military planes today are still mostly 1 or 2 colors and just show where the a 3-D outline of where the target is. It's not about looking realistic 3-D like Super Nintendo trys to get closer to. It's about targeting or power supply and stuff like that.

 

I think the coleco graphics are ok. I mean, they threw the whole thing together at a moment's notice. They really didn't have the time to boot up the laptop and powerpoint the plans, for Vader's sake, they were about to be blown up!

 

No no no. They didn't make the plans, the seperatists did, and then Dooku gave the plans to the Emperor, and the Empire took control.

So, it's really the Empire's plans so they should look top notch.

I meant the plans for the attack, not the Death Star. Sorry for being incoherent and unclear, things are usually a lot clearer inside my own head...

 

That's O.K. But the plans they're looking at are the designs for the Death Star, probably the same designs in AOTC that Dooku has.

 

I hope they change the plans for the DS at least a little when they have two decades' worth of technological advances to work with.

 

I remembering reading a quote by Lucas saying that he would never change the death star plans, because they were an homage to the hard work that went into making them back in 1977.

The ROTJ battle briefing hologram for the Death Star is red too.


Anyways, I honestly don't care. New technical displays would be great for ANH, but I absolutely love the nostalgic feel of the original ones.


So, no matter what actually happens, I'll be happy.

Anyway, over the years, we've known George to say something, and then do exactly the opposite, so don't rely on George's past statements.

I hope they fix that technical readout, as well as the lightsaber blades throughout the movie.

Oh! That makes sense then, he was talking about in the SE that he wouldn't change them. So, I guess that leaves it open for him to change them in the AE.

Also, if I were George, I'd put the AOTC death star plans in the rebel conference room, but not a black screen in the back, like in the picture abouve. I'd also make the background look deeper so the room looks bigger, so there's enough room for the holo death star plans.

 

That red death star would be pretty cool in the ANH briefing room.
