It might be best. For the sake of the draft and such.

I don't really see why there should be a limit to the amount of mechs drafted. I'm also a proponent of the GM picking the mech they use at the time they are drafted, and prep being the thing that allows them to use a different one if they want.

Yes, many people should be cut. Alot of worthlessness here. Cuts should probably include the worthless picks, as well as picks that are just too hard to determine such as Aku. I'm also thinking maybe Alucard should go as well b/c aside from utterly destroying him in one blast we don't know what it takes to beat him. Holy power maybe but how much? It hurts but he always heals from it real quick anyway.

Basically I guess I'm saying if we don't know how to defeat them aside from one-hitting them, I don't really think they should be draftable.

If we're really going to have these add-ins we should think about what that means. Nono basically has more offensive power than Galactus, and is faster in combat as well. One person like that frightens me, more at/near that level... Yeah, doesn't really matter who else gets picked.

I'll look at the list in a bit to see who I think should go, and will probably think of some adds but I don't really want to add that many. Most likely I'll try to stick to the shows already there with readily quantifiable powers.

    Don't forget: BATTLEFIELDS!!!

So are you proposing a 'Monster List' (one Monster per team), like we use in the Movie/TV Draft, for the characters on Nono's level Yak?

I like your list BaSSiL, has a couple guys I wanted to add from Bleach already on it.

Also, I put some colors on. Hope everyone hates them!

I'd say, the fewer monsters the better. If I were judge, jury and executioner I'd have them all found guilty, sentenced to execution and swiftly disposed of.

If they do make it on the list then there should be no limit. Any limit sounds like a PL to me, and that never helped matters in my mind.

But having picks so far and away beyond the next level down... Well let's put it this way Chim. The numbers of course are arbitrary but it's pretty much a fact you had the best team from top to bottom. My numbers found Nono to be about 10x as good as your next-closest person. Which was Ryuhou, with Mai very close.

With that kind of differential the next picks really don't matter. It's gonna wind up where some teams have more monsters than some other teams, and if it's 1 or 2 of them then any team battle with them is pretty much an auto-loss unless their monsters hate each other so much they'd fight during the battle. If it's 7 or 8 it seems that at least those teams have a chance in teams, but it'll probably turn out that in every team battle there'll be a monster combo superior to the opponents' monster combo, even if only by a little bit, but even extremely weak the other picks can't even pick up the pieces.

Basically, the PL in Comics isn't horrible as far as that type of thing goes. Even if you slip up a bit in the PL, there are RLers who can beat half those guys and if you took 2 or 3 of them together they could even give the top dogs a run for thier money. What we're talking about here, there's no run for the money from 2, 3,...,n of the other guys. The gap in comics from a PLer to RLer, say, Thor to Holocaust, is such that on an off day for Thor or maybe an ambush he could lose to Holocaust. Nono getting ambushed by like, half the list could still have a solid shot at winning. Even weakened after taking out the 1 person near her level she could take out the rest of a team easily. Unless they had some sort of mage to transmute her or something, and if we're talking prepped how many mages can transmute something that big?

I mean, we can try it this time and see, I just don't predict it being improvement at all

Why was Nono in the Gundam section?

Because the list should've always read: "Various Mecha Series".

EDIT: Ah, a possible solution. Nono (Diebuster) (No Buster Corps Access) or Nono (Diebuster) (Buster Machine 7 only). At that point she was still roughly human sized and her beam was only able to slice through a small planetoid, and wasn't particularly thick and undodgeable either. Sure she still has the speed, durability, teleportation, and other offensive capabilities. And she'd still be a no-brainer in the first. But she wouldn't be unbeatable, in teams especially, because she couldn't go full on Planet sized Diebuster.

Well, seems more like her beam was able to slice through at least a small planetoid.

But that sounds better, anyway. Buster Corps is ridiculous

I don't know about ridiculous. Maybe the entire Corps she has that forms her planet sized suit, maybe that is ridiculous, but the ones she has access to in the very beginning when she slices that planet should certainly be allowed.

Even as her GM I never once argued with anyone about her hacing access to the full Buster Corps, I was told with prep she would have access to it. So I went with that. I wouldn't have had a problem with her being just Buster machine 7 or mini Nono. In my mind that is what I was going on the entire time, and she still rocked the draft.

I meant that full Buster Corps mode is ridiculous. Regular Nono is at least tolerable. Hopefully will score no more than 1000.

I say we add a few Pokemon trainers from the Anime.

Trainers would be pretty worthless I think. Pokemon maybe, yeah those would work. But trainers?

The trainers would work like summoners in the VGD.

I don't see how, though. Sure, they may work that way if this were the VGD where Red, Gold, and so on would have peaks. But Ash fluctuates so dang much in the anime. One minute Pikachu can take down a foe it has no business even hanging with, and then the next gets owned by a freaking water type.

No, going by the pokemon would probably be best, if we included any of them at all. Which I'm still not too sold on.

    But still, Gary > Nono.

I'd say include individual pokemon like Mew and Mewtwo. Maybe the specific legendaries from the movies like Lugia, Rayquaza (not sure if it's a legendary but there was a unique one in the movie), Lucario, etc.

Probably Ash's pikachu as well. It did have some inconsistencies but as the series goes along it's generally ownage from what I've seen.

    I'm all for pokemon

I'm all for the idea of adding individual pocket monsters, like Mewtwo, Deoxys, and some of the other legendaries that have appeared in the movies.

And I wanted to add Dexter, from Dexter's Laboratory, the Rowdy Rough Boys from PPG, and Naomi Armitage from Armitage III.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kyoji Mujo, from S-cry-ed. He was the villain of the show and was left off the list last time.

I don't like the idea of adding more powerful picks to the draft. The other lower picks that are really good and skilled get overlooked because of lack of power in their universe. I was really hoping that the list would get trimmed so we wouldn't have so many mech, bleach, naruto character and then also those really vague characters that are not all that popular and didn't have a lot of time in a series. I do like the idea of a pilot picking what suit they'd use, though. That'd be cool.

We're, uhm..waiting until Chim's colors run out? Yeah, that sounds good. Also, I really don't feel like reading over that whole list to pick out who you added, can you just post the guys you wanted to add? I'll post who I Want to cut tomorrow.

As of now, it seems to be split on adding power and lowering power. I really don't know what to do with that one. If everyone whoc ares could weight in on that.

All I really plan on doing with this next draft is building a very specific team of my faves (yeah, people tend to crap all over me whenever I try stuff like that, but I'm gonna try again anyways), so I honestly don't give a rat's patoot about the power level. My team should have a few bright spots, no doubt, but unless everyone else screws the pooch to a huge degree, they almost certainly wouldn't win.

Still, if I really cared, I'd definitely vote for lowering the power level. Absolutely no question in my mind about that.

Oh, and for frack's sake, no Him. He's got about the most ridiculously undefined power set out there. You complain about plot-device characters and then you suggest "Him"? He defines the term. Add the Rowdyruffs, add Sedusa or whatever, but no Him.
