IC: Highlander

One of the men spoke, but to Connor, it seemed almost gibberish. He shook his head slightly.

And then...Connor blinked. His eyes widened, visible only by a twitch of the lashes. One of the men, by his voice, this Paul Maud'Dib, had appeared abruptly in the hallway. Almost immediately, the eyes of the Highlander narrowed. He would have to be very careful.
"Connor - which cell are you in?"

Before answering, Connor spun smoothly, picked up his sword, and sheathed it silently. His boots made the slightest of shuffles on the floor as he turned back to the cell door, tucking both sword and sheath under his long coat in case of sudden attack. Then he smiled, and said, "Doon the hall tae your right, friend." And he hoped the other man was a friend. He very much hoped so.

Paul

Paul swiveled, following Connor's voice.

He came upon the cell, and took notice of the man, his surroundings, and his cell. Paul knelt by the lock, and peered at it intently.

"Shigawire would do the job nicely..." he muttered.

He looked up at Connor.

"Any designs as to how you and Marcus can get out?"

OOC: Just what I was wondering. Everyone should be confined within a cell with no way out until the Vadrigar call for them.

And I think everyone has agreed on the two character limit? Feel free to start PMing the sheets.

REMEMBER: Use only established characters (no originals please, as much as I would like to use one myself). This prevents a lot of God-Moding in a sense say if someone had regenerative abilities, immortality, and a katana the size of a buick.

Character Name: Hellboy
Age: 61
Noteworthy Abilities: A big stone right hand
Equipment / Weapons: Customized Pistol with big bullets
Goals for the Arena Eternal: To find out who is behind this tournament
Biography: As a demon named Anung Un Rama, Hellboy was brought to Earth as an infant by Nazi occultists. He was rescued by Allied forces and raised by the United States? Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). He grew up to be a large red-skinned demon with a tail, horns (which he files down to stumps), and a big stone right hand. Although a bit gruff, he shows none of the malevolence thought to be intrinsic to demons and works with other strange creatures in the B.P.R.D. He has been dubbed as the "World's Greatest Paranormal Investigator."

OOC: Prana Bindu Training. The user has to envision oneself in the are they wish to be (they have to be in sight of it, and total control over their muscles) so perfectly, their body moves them there. Needless to say, I doubt Paul will be using it very often.

The Vadrigar, if capable of transporting many people to this Arena, are more powerful than any being they summon. Thankfully, they are not participating in the tournament, and thereby rule it. Think of the cells as having "power-nullifiers" that prohibit escape. Even so, where would Paul go if he did escape?

OOC: Prana-bindu training is not only a heightened awareness of all muslces in the human body, but also the complete control over all physiological systems. This leads to increased speed, accuracy and the ability to control every cell in your body (ie detoxifying the imbibed water of life). However, this does not give one the ability to become ethereal and transport oneself through solid metal bars. Paul Muad'dib can no more pass through solid metal bars than Bruce Willis can actually kill a bunch of German terrorists.

Where'd you get your information on it?

GM Approved

Character Name: Monkey, Sun Wukong, Great Sage
Age: Oooh, toughie.
Noteworthy Abilities: Monkey can cause himself to grow or shrink, somewhere between 100 ft. high and 2 in. high. He is also extremely strong and fast, can fly, change shape, and, by blowing his fur in strands, create about a dozen little monkeys (animals, not doubles of himself) under his command.
Equipment / Weapons: Iron staff
Goals for the Arena Eternal: Winning
Biography: Sun Wukong is the name given to this character by his teacher, Patriarch Subodhi, and means "aware of emptiness"; he is called Monkey King or simply Monkey in English. He was born a monkey, out of a rock that had been dormant for ages. He first distinguished himself by bravely entering the Water-Curtain Cave at the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit; for this feat, his monkey tribe gave him the title of "Monkey King". Later, he started making trouble in Heaven and defeated an army of 100,000 celestial soldiers, led by the Four Heavenly Kings, Erlang Shen, and Nezha. Eventually, the Jade Emperor appealed to Buddha, who subdued and trapped Wukong under a mountain. He was only saved when Xuanzang came by him on his pilgrimage and accepted him as a disciple. Character Name: Agito Makishima aka Guyver III
Age: 19
Noteworthy Abilities:
16. Megasmasher - this superlative particle cannon is the Guyver's strongest weapon. Shot from the chest it is capable of causing wide scale destruction along a linear path. Considering its extensive recharge time, and the brief duration of most duels, it is used as a last resort or finisher.

17. Head Beam - above the frontal control crystal is a small pearl shaped device. From this point a laser can be fired at will, directed wilfully by the Guyver. It is a hyperkinetic-heat energy weapon that has basically the same strength and damage potential of an armour piercing bullet.

18. Frequency swords - extendable protusions that vibrate at such high a frequencies that they can cut through the strongest materials.

19. Inertial generators - these sphereical lumps control the Guyver's mass-to-energy ratio. At their most basic level they are power amplifiers; located in the limbs. As matter and energy can be considered interconvertible, this allows the Guyver to increase the mass of its kick or punch beyond what it is natural by boosting the gravity and momentum. This gives his melee attacks a significant damage potential.

20. Pressure Cannon - gathered at the waist near the gravity gyro, the Guyver can harness a power singularity and throw it towards a target. Upon contact the highly pressurized sphere explodes releasing the gathered force. It is a powerfully concussive blast that mirrors a kinetic explosion.

21. Equipment / Weapons: Bio-booster armour (full spectrum all-body armour; black), frequency swords (protusions on either elbow; extendable).
Goals for the Arena Eternal: To further test the power of the Guyver unit- and ultimately to win.
Biography: Agito Makishima became the adopted son of Genzo Makishima, who was a higher-up in the clandestine world orginization known as Cronos. His real parents were driven into ruin and eventually death by Genzo who had always found a fascination with the boy and wanted him for his own son. By Genzo's example of brutality and incompassionate avarice over any noteworthy humane benevolence, Agito became a cold and indifferent teen; wise beyond his years. And it was through Genzo that he learned of the Guyver.

The ultimate weapon in Cronos' arsenal were the lost G-Units, or Guyver units, which they sought for in vain. The Guyver is a bio-boosted symbiote that 'fuses' with the host, armouring it and giving it incredible power. Shortly after the first unit, Guyver I, was activated by highschooler Sho Fukamachi, Agito appeared in another Guyver unit; he became known as Guyver III after the failed Guyver II unit.

Agito's naturally strong will power gave him a great grasp and understanding of the Guyver's full potential and in its form he is a formidable adversary- on his alternate Earth he is one of the strongest beings in existence.

Photograph:Here

Notes
Megasmasher - the Guyver III's right breast plate opens up to reveal a crystal lense of an almost viscous consistency. It undulates wide open like an eye. This lense, once revealed, immediately begins to channel an immense amount of energy. Once directed a massive beam is shot from the lense which begins to accelerate all the particles in its path to a near light speed factor. The megasmasher lense only deals out energy in its purest form. The damage from the blast is caused by the accelerated particles as they are shot forth along the linear path, literally destroying matter at the sub atomic level.

IC: Monkey

Flash! Free! Monkey was free! He raised his hairy arms over his head and crowed as though he had just been elected supreme master of the universe.
Which, in a way, he had.
Only then did Monkey take a look around. His enormous grin faded slightly. He hadn't expected this. He appeared to be in some sort of iron jail cell. How strange. Monkey paused, put slightly off his stride, but then swiftly regained his momentum. No mere bars could hold the Great Sage!
With a cackle, Monkey sprang across the chamber in a single motion, and seized the bars between his powerful hands. He gave them a good tug. The bars held firm. Monkey's brows drew together in consternation, and he gave a good heave. When this failed equally, Monkey braced his feet against the wall, and hauled on the bars with all his might, letting loose a string of growls and snarls.
When it became obvious that the door was not giving, Monkey flipped lightly, landed with a slap of his bare feet on the floor, and scratched his head thoughtfully. Then he shrugged, conjured his iron staff, and, raising it above his head, brought it crashing against the bars with enough force to send an elephant over the Himalayas with room to spare.
CLANG! The jolt went all the way up Monkey's arms. He peered at the untouched bars in disbelief for a moment, then with a scream of fury, leapt at them, pummeling and striking indiscriminately. The bars, perversely, did not fall.
Monkey picked up the pace. Soon he was bouncing all over the walls at such speed that there appeared to be fifteen monkeys, twenty staffs, all striking and screaming battle-cries (and profanities).
Until, abruptly, Monkey came to a halt, leaning on his staff and panting. He was now looking slightly confused. But, with a look of cunning, he swiftly changed his staff into a pin which he placed distractedly behind his ear, and shrank down to the size of a rag doll, whereupon he walked confidently toward the door...and yet he still couldn't squeeze between the bars.
How strange. Monkey had been sure he would fit. Ah well, no matter. He swiftly transformed himself into a mouse, and made for the bars...which had drawn together even more substantially.
With a shriek of fury, Monkey swelled into his normal size in an instant. In quick succession, he hammered fourteen spells, eleven charms, and roughly three and two fifths curses into the door, with no effect. Failing this, Monkey leapt into the air, floating for a moment as mist curled from nowhere into a cloud around his feet, and somersaulted in the air. He flew toward the door with tremendous force. For a moment, time seemed to pause. Monkey grinned in anticipation. His somersault cloud carried him 36,000 miles in an instant. It had never failed.
SPLAT! Monkey, Sun Wukong, the Great Sage, who had caused havoc in Heaven with a rebellious reign of terror, hit the door with stunning force, slid slowly down the bars, and fell to the floor with a dull thud, tongue lolling out the side of his mouth, lights completely out.

IC as The Vadrigar

Numerous thunders reigned down from the heavens, shaking the noteworthy fighters in their simple cages. The impervious stone walls began to crumble only slightly, and the great invulnerable bars quaked in fear as the voices summoned forth the current champions. Boredom had apparently struck the Arena Masters, and they were going to observe not one, but four fights at once.

The thunders rang out again, calling forth the names of the champions as they were whisked away to some location unknown to themselves but known only by the Vadrigar. Four matches, nine fighters, and four locations. Where would they be sent? Who would they fight? The thunders rang one final time, the warriors disappearing in pairs, as to what would be their first real chance to prove themselves as worthy as the Vadrigar had thought them to be.

The Bastion of Unborn Souls: Soul Falls - The space in which Choji and Agito had found themselves was no more than 100 feet in diameter bounded in brilliant light with a crystalline ceiling some 100 feet above. A flow of dimly glowing, wraithlike forms fall from the center of the ceiling like a waterfall, only to be stopped by a slumbering dragon. The falling soulstuff runs across the dragon's hide like water, and like water in a stoppered barrel, the material pools to a depth of about 2 feet, covering the entire floor in dimly glowing, whispering, naked life force.

A 20-foot-square, 30-foot-high metal tower stands near the periphery of the space. Arrow slits dot its sides, and it has a crenellated battlement atop it. The pooled soulstuff laps against its lower walls. A small humanoid figure stands atop the tower behind the battlements.

Malachor V: Trayus Core - The nexus of Trayus Academy, the core is a clawlike altar built over a collosal geyser of dark side energy. Three bridges stem from the core itself, where several curved pillars stand. Hellboy and John McClane find themselves dead center of the core, a bloody conflict about to ensue.
Quidditch Field: Hogwarts - Tien and Paul Atreides stand on the ground as young wizards of both genders, students from Hogwarts Academy, whiz through the air on brooms chasing and throwing spherical objects at one another, and also through hoops to gain points. Their speed is astounding for just being mere children compared to the two combatants brought to fight in the Arena. The field itself is oval-shaped, with three hoops at each end and seven players on each team including the Seeker, the Keeper, the Chasers and the Beaters.

Beware the Bludgers...
Area near Frieza's Spaceship: Dying Planet Namek - The final combatants, Marcus and Connor, find themselves near a bug-like spaceship on a dying world. Lava spurts from the ground in great fountains while deadly thunder and lightning pour down from the sky. The molten ash is enough to burn even the immortal Highlanders skin, and the sounds of the planet itself shake even the wills of even the sternest military man. The planet has but few moments left, and the only means of escape lie within the alien ship which neither combatant has any knowledge of operation...
[/blockquote]

And what of Sun Wukong? Should any of the combatants finish their opponent before the others, the Great Monkey God himself shall be imposed upon the victor. A mere treat for the Vadrigar unknown to the fighters themselves...

Good luck and enjoy... "meat"...[/blockquote]

John McClane - Malachor V: Trayus Core

After the relentless thunder abated, the off-duty cop found himself standing no longer in a cage but between pillars that resembled black talons. His cigarette pitched between his lips before it fell to the hard grey floor. Though he couldn't put a name to it, there was a great feeling of intense malignancy in this place- wherever this place was.

Instinct alone summoned him to draw his Beretta. It's cool grip a comfort to the agitated man. Off a ways he noticed someone else. Upon a keener inspection McClane mentally noted that someone was in fact a something. His head bucked and he gave it a slow, frustrating shake. "Johnny boy you stupid ****, you're in for it now..."

Guyver III - The Bastion of Unborn Souls: Soul Falls

Agito did not stay long in the strange metal cell. In actuality he had barely even registered his new surroundings before they instantly changed again. The bars vanishing behind an eerie glow. Even in his starched high-collared uniform and its accompanying black slacks, he could not till if it was hot or cool. He thought it felt cool but he believed it may just by an affect of his tremblings nerves.

He now stood in an area inclosed by a brilliant light. Curious eyes snapped about as he mentally checked his surroundings. A quirkly drawn grimace lent him a face of disbelief. His eyes told him all but he could not consciously register it nor could he explain it. It went without saying that he chose to ignore the sight of the slumbering dragon- perhaps out of fear, but even Agito did not know what to feel when looking upon a sight as daunting as a dragon. Even a life filled with zaonoids could scarcely prepare him for that sight.

Agito faltered. His logic incapable of defining what was going on. He recalled what the voices had told him. Scarcely believing them, he could not rightly deny what they said as they had indeed taken him from Earth and delivered him to a invulnerable cage and now to this ghastly arena. Exhaling he meditated and found a calm beneath the hurlyburly of his consciousness. If he could not account for this place logically then he would do so wilfully; abandoning reason for survival and instinct. Even his brain, both deligent and keen, had its limits. In a world completely alien he could trust in only one thing: the Guyver unit.

With those listless spectres swirling about his legs he stood and breathed. Throwing out his arms he cried out. "Bio-boost!"

The summoning of the unit was nearly instantaneous to those bound by normal time reality, but Agito was aware that seconds did pass. The moment he cried out the psionic link between he and the armour was triggered. In case anything blocked the armour from fusing with the host, a powerful shockwave blasted the air about the body clear. The shallow pool of spirits was shred apart in a diameter of several feet- if anything organic were caught in its wake, it would likely burst said object asunder.

Both he and the unit were pulled into a pocket dimension where numerous tendrils became wrapped around Agito's human form. They covered the young man in a flexible body-glove that, in the passing of half a second, solidified into the black bio-booster armour. Even his organs went through a transformation, the pain intense but so brief it was merely a fleeting inconvenience.

The instant the shockwave died, Agito no longer existed. He was the Guvyer now. Below slanted red eyes, armoured respiratory units expelled the excess air that had been caught between the human and the symbiote when they had joined. Two jets of white vapour shot out from the spiked face, much like the challange of a bull. Guyver III was ready to fight.

OOC: I find it ironic, that when I placed the names in a container and drew them out, that not only does one of my characters get drawn for the first match, but also gets to fight one of the more tougher opponents. I was going to have it that the final match be a 3-way-battle, but as two of the three characters in that battle would both belong to Ptolemy7, it seemed a bit unfair.

Choji Akimichi

The Bastion of Unborn Souls: Soul Falls

Choji was dumbfounded. Not only had he been affected by what could've only been some type of S-rank genjutsu, but there was a dragon in the very same area! Surroundings aside, the portly ninja about dropped his bag of potato chips when he saw who his opponent was to be. This man, if he could be called such a thing, used a transformation jutsu of some type to enhance his body to the point where he was nothing but a monster. If that hadn't played on the young ninja's nerves, the eerie cold of the surrounding area would.

"Alright Choji! This is it!" The fat ninja gulped before placing his hands in almost a praying fashion in front of him. The man before him, unknown to him and seemingly dangerous, could probably tear Choji apart. He would have to try his best not to get killed to early in his match, or at all. The time had come to bluff.

The boy gulped again and kept his hands extended. "What was it that Misumi Tsurugi guy said? It worked on me, maybe it'll work on this guy..."

Choji spoke, an air of confidence in his voice. "Once I go into my jutsu, give up. Because there's no way you can win..." That wasn't anything Choji would've said at all! He was far too cowardly to even state such a threat. But he had to put some kind of doubt into his opponent, because the longer he had to formulate his own strategy, the longer he would live.

"Expansion jutsu!" With the words said and the handsign made, the young boy expanded to almost 10 times his size, resembling an inflated balloon. He stood before the Guyver, a look of severity on his face, performing the next part of his technique. "Leaf Style Taijutsu: Human Boulder Jutsu!" Whether or not it surprised the Guyver, Choji's limbs tucked themselves inside his clothing, and suddenly the large boulder began to propel itself at the armored man at incredible speed...

Tien Shinhan

Quidditch Field: Hogwarts

[blockquote]Tien was amazed beyond belief! Sure he had heard of Goku's Instant Transmission, but this was just truly amazing! People were flying around on broomsticks, and chasing after what appeared to be balls of some sort. Tien had never been one for games, and hoped that this wouldn't interfere with his upcoming match. He knew he had to fight, and he knew there would be a prize. Tien was determined to win, and not become left behind like Yamcha and the others whereas Goku and Piccolo had surpassed almost all of the Z Fighters.

Tien observed his opponent, all three eyes seeming to focus in on him. Whether the other man knew it or not, Tien's third eye could copy the abilities of his opponents and with practice, perfect them without much strain to his body. Tien could press a forward attack and draw out the man's strength, or go on a complete defensive to observe the starting attacks. Tien took a fighting stance, one that could project an evenly situated offense or defense depending on what was needed and looked to his opponent. "Alright let's go!" The three-eyed Z Fighter yelled to Paul Atreides, hoping to start the fight soon.[/blockquote]

Broomsticks. This was very, very odd. Some sport, old, ancient, and entertaining by the sound of it. Paul observed for a moment, before sizing up his opponent.

Three eyes? Paul was reminded of the Spacing Guild. Though this man showed no signs of mutation. He reached for his knife, remembering the traditional challenge.

"May thy blade chip and shatter!" he called, drawing the tooth of Shai-Hulud. Until it drew blood, the blade could not be sheathed.

Pau crouched low, his training coming into focus. There were no shields in this battle, but Paul had been used to fighting sans-shield for years now. His last duel, with Feyd-Rautha, had nearly been fatal. But there had been treachery in that battle, and Paul had won anyway. It was close, but it could have been worse. This man had nothing - unless that eye endowed him with any new abilities.

Advancing up the field, Paul moved carefully, waiting for an attack.

Quidditch Field: Hogwarts

Tien was about to press an attack before a young wizard zipped by him, trying to grab what appeared to be a golden orb the size of a walnut. He spun in retaliation to his left and charged up his starting attack. "Dodon Ray!" It was a very powerful first attack, but an energy beam could prove useful in times like this. In fights to the death, there was no holding back.

The three-eyed Z Fighter sent the long yellow energy beam from the tip of his right index finger towards his opponent's chest, hoping to score a hit to follow up with something he had learned from Goku many years ago...

Paul dashed forward, his knife in his left hand, and drew his pistol, firing two shots. With any luck, they would at least force his opponent to move to a place where Paul could close in with the knife.

The shots were wild, and would most likely miss, but they'd make the three eyed man think twice.

There was only one word...rude. It was just rude. Connor was standing casually in the cell, leaning against the wall, and then, with a terrific flash-bang, he found himself standing in what appeared to be hell on steroids. Rude.
Connor spun. Beside him was some sort of transport, which looked basically like...well...a starship, actually, though he wasn't about to admit to that. Lava spurted around him hungrily, and Connor hastily ducked. He couldn't be harmed by it, but if it struck him, it would definitely hurt before the power of the Quickening took hold.
Ahead was the man who had called himself Marcus, Connor noted. He felt a flash of sadness; Marcus had seemed a decent sort. But his hands were already moving, whipping out the katana. As Connor's boots crunched on the dried magma, his mind flitted back, as it always did, several hundred years...

"If if comes down to the two of us..." Connor uncertainly asked Ramirez, his friend, his mentor, "would you take my head?"
Ramirez paused, as though considering, then gave Connor a rather melancholy smile. In the end, brother, there can be only one."

Connor stepped toward Marcus, coat flapping in air so hot it seemed blown from some preternatural furnace. "There can be only one," he said grimly, and cleared the space between them in a single leap high in the air, slashing for Marcus' head.

"Guns! This guy reminds me of General Tao!" Tien thought, taking off into the air with little effort and hovered high above the shots fired from Paul. Chances are this guy couldn't fly either, but Tien wasn't about to take such a chance. Besides, the way the man was charging with that knife of his, he was probably very skilled in close quarters. Tien was as well, and had dealt with swords such as Yajirobe's (though he was nowhere as skilled with a katana than a butter knife, using either most sparingly), how else would he have gotten the scars that litter his chest?

Tien was prepared for his second attack. Copied from Yamcha during the Tenkaichi Budokai, the Kamehameha wave was one of his low-level attacks he had perfected during his training with Chiaotzu. He had used it against Goku during the tournament, as well as Yamcha, so he hoped it would work well enough here as it did many years ago.

"Kaaameeee....." Tien powered up and placed his hands off to his side, turning his hips slightly. "Haaaaaameeeeee....." Tien's muscles flexed as he rushed his hands in front of him, palms extended and hands held vertically and as polar opposites before releasing a powerful wave of blue energy. This, unlike the Dodon Ray, could be controlled, but left Tien open to many different types of attack.

However, he had jettisoned himself high above Paul, but low enough to avoid many of the wizards buzzing about. "HAAAAAAAAAAAA!" The blast was enormous, and headed right in the direction of the masterful knife fighter.

Paul Atreides

The young Emperor saw the attack coming. Flight? Odd. He wondered how it was accomplished, unaided.

The blast streaked towards Paul, but he was already out of its line of fire. The blast continued on, but Paul didn't look back. He hoped it wouldn't wreak too much havok with the game being played.

He jumped up into the air, catching hold of a broomstick. The pilot stared at him in surprise, and Paul pointed at the three-eyed man. "Bring me up there."

Catching sight of the knife, the young man nodded, pulling up to Paul's opponent. When he was not more than three metres away, Paul prepared his attack - and was struck in the side by a heavy weight.

He fell, noticing in the sky a dark ball streaking away from his previous location. He needed to catch hold of something - anything!
