If we're talking people to remove from the list, my first pick would be Brock and anybody else who's got unrealistic/cartoonish abilities. Cassandra would be debatable under those circumstances, as would be Ozymandias. The problem here is that this draft isn't particularly well-defined, and I think we've let too many cartoonish names slip into a list that would be better-focused without them. I mean, I'd love to compare John McClane and Brock Samson, but you really can't. McClane's a real tough guy, but he's mostly based in reality; Brock is an indestructible cartoon character.

That said, I stand by my opinion that the Bride is round one material. I suppose it depends on how you define round one material, but she's (in my opinion) better than at least half the picks that went in round one. Of course, she's not unstoppable - you'll just have to argue pretty hard. I would lay out some potential weaknesses now, but I figure I should save some of the arguing for you guys.

In other news, I might post more breakdowns later today.

Now for my first complaint, if you want to call it that. I really think Batman should be the comics version. I mean we have the comics version of Dick Greyson and Batgirl but why not Batman. Or at least make it the movie version of Dick and Batgirl and get rid of Tim. I really don't think it is fair that Batgirl, Robin and Nightwing are so close to Batman's level or even higher (although I can see Nightwing being close to comics Batman (both are baddass)). The movie Batman still kicks butt but he isn't on par with the comics version, although this is still just the beginning of him. Just some thought


Oh and update of the board

 

Do you realize how insane a prepared Batgod is for this list? Dick doesn't come close in terms of feats.

 

Nightwing does have a lot going for him. He was trained by Bats, is younger, and was trained by Bats. I think there is a lot more too him then people give credit for

Where were you when I said almost the same thing before the draft started? Everyone disagreed because they wanted the people that don't get drafted in their respective drafts to be in this one. I wanted the animated guys about for the same reason, makes it that much harder to judge IMO.

Well Chim, I said something at one point. I remember at one point I considered saying something again, but there seemed to be a lot of people on the other side of the fence. In any case, this is just a trial draft; maybe next time we can eliminate Brock and Cass. And maybe the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles while we're at it. (Really, what the **** are they doing on this list?)

I'm no trekkie, so you'll have to argue for Kirk. Honestly, I'm unfamiliar with his merits - he definitely seems a stronger captain than fighter, but phasers make things a lot easier. Same goes for Slaughter - as well as about half the characters in this draft. Every character's as strong as the GM behind him (or her). That said, Dutch is an absolute prep demon. There's few people on the list that could stop a prepped Dutch. The only thing keeping me from bumping you up to a B+ is that with Snake and Dutch, you're prep is already a little stretched.

V can work wonders with prep, and Marv's a solid pick - if not spectacular. Of course, the two of them are kinda unstable, so that brings your cohesion down a notch or two. You've got a couple guys who are totally cool and level, one guy who's trying to keep in control, and one guy who's dangerously insane. They all might get along, but they also might not.

Han Solo wouldn't rank so high were it not for the mysterious luck factor. Sure, he's not devilishly skilled, but even if he doesn't always shoot first, bullets have a way of missing him. He's not immune to damage, but he's strangely survivable. That said, MacGyver's nice with prep, but you'd have to argue for him - I'm unfamiliar. You've got a bunch of nice guys up there, which gives you good cohesion even if you don't factor in the Han/Chewbacca factor.

Okay, Mr. Terrific's a great pick, even if you did break theme for him. This is shaping up to be a very good team; Batgoddess arguably is too good for this list, and her teammates aren't slackers either. The Bride kicks all kinds of ass - in her case, the accomplishments outweigh the skills by far. It's easy to look at her and say 'Well, she's good with a sword' and dismiss her as just decent. But it's just as easy to look at her and say 'She completely annihilated the whole ****ing Tokyo underworld from top to bottom (among other things)'. You've got quite a team.

Spike doesn't stand out to me, so feel free to argue with. Legolas is someone I see varying quite a bit based on the match - he's mainly a ranged fighter, but he's using a bow, while many of his opponents will be packing heat.
