That's some gratitude Roman shows the man who got him what he coveted most. You'd think he'd at least have had until Christmas.

he obviously has a massive hard on for Guardiola. Yet it's not like he's guarenteed to win them the quadruple every year, or whatever it seems to be that Roman deems worthy of success.

thing is Chelsea has the makings of a very good side. a touch more investment in the defence and a decent striker and they're fine. but more than that all they need is time. Oscar, Hazard and Mata haven't even played half a season together and they already look good together. but they're still learning. what is Roman's problem? the team is in transitional mode, and have improved since last year. Roman is an idiot and doesn't understand football.

Roman is a fool, Chelsea players like Di Matteo and he won the biggest trophy available.

Yes the team had a recent bad run, but they are only 4 points behind Man City which could easily be rectified if they beat them this weekend (seems less likely now, which is annoying). Now the team will be disjointed and the assistant will have to take over for that game.
Benitez is not a good choice, he was over-rated at Liverpool and rotated the hell out of the team.

At least wait until the end of the season before assessing performance, Chelsea have a squad good enough to win the league.

As much as the Glazers lumber United with debt, they at least don't interfere with the running of the team.

    fun stat for the day:

Chelsea have spent £86m since 2004 in compensation for managers... more than Everton's entire net spend since the Premier League began.

I'd rather have Avram Grant back than Rafa Benitez.

Indeed. Di Matteo's record is pretty damned poor.

He needed more time, he wanted to re-build the team his way. It is foolish to expect instant results, a 52.2% win record still won him the trophy none of the others could manage.

He only had the last 4 games of the campaign. Two wins and 2 draws.

Not done as well with the first 5.

And he was never "going to build the team his way". He was always going to be a stop-gap.

    lol@Chelski.

Meanwhile, Dortmund running roughshod on Ajax, 3-0 at the half in Amsterdam. ManC lookinglike they're going to crash out as well, down 1-0 to Real.

    lol @ Chelsea

Considering not watching another Chelsea match until the end of the season in order to avoid the horrifying sight of that complete tool as the Chelsea manager.

Well, Roman got old Benitez in fast.
Lets hope his rotation policy doesn't cause problems like it did for Liverpool, maybe behind that villainous goatee lies a tactical master [face_thinking]

He's not got long to get the team ready for the crunch game at the weekend.

Meanwhile Dortmund and Schalke both won to join Bayern in the knockout phase. Good night for the BuLi, Dortmund even locked up 1st in the Group o' Death.

It would be even more insane for Mancini to be fired at this point. Defending Premiership champions, top of the league and unbeaten so far, hardly a reason to be concerned or think about removing the manager.

I had the worst dream last night. I dreamt that Rafa Benitez was named as manager of Chelsea.
