I always rated Yorke as a player, his linkup play was exceptional and he was a great finisher, it was either him or Solksjaer.

 

I'm surprised that nobody has selected Blomqvist, Bosnich, Djemba-Djemba, Kléberson, Bellion, Taibi, Prunier or Verón.

 

I prefered Jordi over all of them

Yes I can. If refs had treated him as they treated everyone else, he would've spent so much time not playing. Plus, Bryan Robson was just as good a player. Plus, plus, Scholes and Keane in the same side is quite a risk.

 

i think the rest of his game makes up for his rash tackling, and then some. also, the risk paid off in 98/99, for starters!

 

But do you think he was better than Robson?

 

i never really saw enough of Robson to comment, tbh. besides, he was at United before SAF so I don't think he qualifies ;-)

 

He played under Ferguson.

I didn't see much of Robson, either, but then constructing a best XI like that does have to - in part - rely on what one has heard about certain players. Else the exercise is pretty pointless. Nobody can say they've seen enough of every player to put together a truly authoritative XI.

As for the FA Cup final. I mean, really, who cares? Wigan don't care about the result since staying the Premier League is more important, and for City a win would be nothing more than mild compensation for only finishing second in the league. I move that if you qualify for the CL, you don't play in the FA Cup.
