Interested to see who Spurs bring on with the Bale money. Trash papers have mentioned Hulk as early name.

This should be a great game vs. Swansea, too.

Edit- What a save by Vorm. Wow!

They're already spending the Bale money, but guess they now have £30m spare seeing they've lost Willian. Lamela is a good buy if they get him.

    Come on Cardiff!

Although City had a midfielder playing in defence (surprising given how much they spend that they don't have more depth in that area), that should not take anything away from Cardiff. A victory well deserved it seems, showing even the top teams can be got at if you have the right game plan.

no out and out striker for Chelsea. Jose with a "come and fill the spot" note to Rooney.

    no Mata. Rooney starting.

    funny ol' game

It did us OK last season, we'll have to do with it until tougher midfielders come along.

City played with both Fernadinho & Yaya Toure in midfield against Cardiff and still lost.

Zaha not even on the bench, seems a waste of his talent to leave him out.

    Rooney seems lively so far.

Interesting that Mata and Kagawa are both on the bench.

Has Kagawa even played under Moyes?

Odd that Jose would leave out Mata, he has been Chelsea's best player the last two seasons.

Mata isn't really a Mourinho type of player.

Moyes may think that the Chelsea game is a step up too far for Zaha at this stage of his development, I don't know if I'd agree with him if that's his belief but I can understand why he'd do it.

Maybe. Lets hope he gets more game time later on.

Same with Kagawa, if he's not a fit for United he should be sold. If he is he should play, especially if Rooney is unsettled.

If United must buy a defender, it should be another right-back. Jones is OK cover but he's obviously a central defender.
This young guy Varela is a long-term prospect, so some solid cover for Rafael needs to come in.

Jose doing United a favour by not playing a striker.

Jose is trying to sell the striker role to Rooney.

Rooney is however having a good game and on this basis isn't putting a performance that would make Moyes want to sell.

Jones is adequate at RB but isn't fast enough to be a long term option, he is either a defensive midfielder or a center back, I'm not sure which yet though.

i'd do a Rooney for Mata + £10m swap, or something to that effect.

think Jones is best as a centreback. would like to see Fabio at RB while his brothers out - he's started a CL final for us in that position before (over Rafael).

Maybe also a bit lightweight for a match like this. Creative yes, but too easy to muscle off the ball. Rooney on the other hand is harder to push around.

could do with a little bit of creativity out there tho, the game's running towards a lame draw
