What an abysmal summer this has been.

 

Moyes will get the blame but I feel fault would lie more with your new chief executive as he's the man who'll thrash out transfer fee's and contracts based on options given by Moyes.

I imagine Moyes gave him a list of players in order of priority, the new chief exec will have seen Fellaini down the list beneath the likes of Fabregas etc... and ignored him thus letting the minimum fee lapse, his negotiations in all other transfer bids made is ridiculous as well as I'm sure Gill would have made a better fist of it.

Poor show by United this year and to skip over Ozil as well is poor.

I expected first or second for United this year (2nd most likely) now it's either third or fourth with an urgency to recruit in January.

Still you may yet get Fellaini, possibly.

Shame the Herrera deal fell through, some talk on the BBC that some people impersonated United officials in order to delay the deal. That doesn't seem very likely though, United delayed too long and have paid the price. Maybe they can sign him in January.

We need reinforcements and looks like we may only get Fellaini - if that even does go through. Hardly the signature signing we were promised early on.

You still have Rooney and Kagawa and rumours I've heard are that Kagawa isn't 100% fit yet which is why he hasn't played.

Powells move is an excellent one, should get decent quality and regular football for Wigan and he is another creative player who could do with that one good season to kick on his development ala Cleverley and Wilshere

 

Fellaini will offer something extra, Herrera is more long-term replacement potential for Carrick who should be good for at least this season and next. Maybe United can at least get a First Option thing for Herrera so come next summer they can get him.
