So much for expecting Arsenal to do us a favour and beat Liverpool.

Arsenal's run of games isn't going to get a lot better either. They can hope to get revenge by beating Liverpool in the FA Cup, but if they play like this against Bayern Munich they'll be trashed again.

On this display I fancy United can beat them

 

Speaking of United, you've got to think tomorrow's match is a great chance to start establishing some positive momentum. I mean you've got Fulham, at the bottom of the table, coming into Old Trafford ... a positive result there could give them the spark they need to get out of the drop zone.

 

I would like to lol @ Arsenal, but given the identity of the victors and the consequences the result has for the chase for 4th place, I cannot.

One dimensional football. The number of crosses in the game was embarrassing. Couldn't help but laugh when we conceded at the death.

 

I should have known the writing was on the wall when Bent was brought on.

 

At least you get a +1 in our bet. Although it's now Schurrle vs Bent!

But it's obviously great to see Chelsea top of the league with all the top 4 having played the same number of games. I would never have imagined that 8 days ago. Still think City will win it.

And it's looking like the Mata deal was as good for Chelsea as the Torres deal was for Liverpool.

Also, Wes Brown is an idiot. 2nd minute of the game? Let them have a shot on goal. Better to be 1-0 down after 2 minutes than down to 10 men after 2 minutes.

 

I would contest that an illegal penalty kick could be considered the worst penalty kick, as by definition it was not a penalty kick.

My understanding was that buying Mata was to try and inject some creativity into the team and not rely on basic route-one tactics. Yet he plays and all United do is plant cross after cross into the box. and they weren't even very good, why does Young keep getting so much game time?
The fault primarily is still defending though, United were going to score eventually with all the pressure they put Fulham under but then to concede against a team set up to defend is silly.

Not sure what the attitude of the players is right now, half of them don't seem able to put the effort in. Maybe getting rid of most of them in the summer and bringing in people that actually want to play for United will improve things.



Some interesting matches tonight, I think Hull vs Southampton could be good.
