Dortmund apparently suffocating Arsenal while 'the next Dortmund', Leverkusen, doing a great job of impersonating Dortmund's 1st CL campaign under Klopp, dominating Monaco, wasting chance upon chance, then conceding on Monaco's first decent chance.

Granted, but probably wait until after tomorrow? Although you have the easiest group ever. Everyone agrees with that, except Everton. Liverpool a group is easier, obviously.

a very lucky escape against a team i had never heard of until the draw came out. depth, perhaps - star quality? not so much.

although i've always kinda liked Balotelli. his football is inconsistent, obviously, but you have to admit he is a bit of a dude.

 

i didn't see the Arsenal game, but i heard Welbeck missed another sitter tonight, plus a couple of other chances. shame he doesn't play like he does for England all the time.

a year off the CL just whets the appetite, my good man. i figure you must have been positively starving though by last season.

 

No question about Balotelli's talent. Don't forget though, he got off to a great start at Milan, everyone raved about him his first season. His performance completely dropped off the second year, though.

As for Arsenal, big wasted opportunity with Reus out. Gündugon will also likely be back in the next few weeks, Dortmund will only get better.

 

Welbeck again fails when clean through on goal. A shame that such a talented player is so inconsistent in club matches

 

There were bigger issues for the first year, fortunately fixed now.

 

The Chelsea ref's kit is far too similar to the Schalke kit. Light grey against pale green.
