His backtracking doesn't make sense, either. I know he pays their wages, but you'd think someone at the club would tell him to keep those sort of views to himself. (asking him to rethink them may be a step too far)

I think the co-chairman is a moron. Whilst Ched has served his time (albeit without remorse), it's completely wrong for him to go back to the same club. His actions have brought the club into disrepute, so he should have been sacked from there the moment the guilty verdict came in. Of course, he should have the right to sign for any other club that wants him, but to go straight back to Sheffield is an insane move, rightly received with the backlash it did.

 

It would be one thing if he'd shown an ounce of remorse, given an apology and rightly grovelled to any club that would have him. Yet to expect to waltz back into his old job as if nothing had happened is taking the mick. The man's a rapist, working in a profession where, rightly or wrongly, he represents the town or city it's based in. I'd argue he shouldn't be allowed to play for a football club again. He should've thought of the consequence before he went a raped someone.
