he's worth more than city's offer of £25m but he's not worth £50m. all negiotiatoin tactics. they'll probably settle for something like £35m + £5m in add ons, or something like that.

Supposedly Arsenal and United only view him at about £35 million max. Citeh, and others, will just play the long game - the more Brendon waits for a bigger offer, the worse the situation gets. From my understanding (i.e reading goal.com), Liverpool spending plans depend on getting significant fee for Sterling. Jovetic and Benteke won't come cheap.

Think Sterling will leave just before or after the season starts.

In other news, Remy in talks with West Ham.

Benteke would be a decent signing (although yeah, as you say, he'll take up most of the Sterling fee) but Jovetic? lol. he's a crock.

I don't think United need Sterling. He's not as good as he or Liverpool think he is.
Having more talented English players is important sure, which is why Clyne should be a priority. A right-back is needed, Sterling is not.

i'd happily take Sterling but there's no way Liverpool sell him to United. no chance.

United show interest in Harry Kane.

That would be some transfer. Really cannot see Spurs selling him without a huge fee. Yet, United set to nab Brazilian Firmino (very talented. Huge potential)

i think Kane is one season too early - i'd like him to deliver two seasons in a row before we splash £40m+ on him. Firmino would be great (although another 10?) but i've heard reports he isn't as close to signing as others have suggested.

I agree. Give Kane another season at Spurs and see if he reaches 30 again.

Here's a name that interests me: Ross Barkley. Remember, back in March/April, both Chelsea and Citeh were rumoured to preparing bids in the summer? IMHO, Barkley won't be moving. Think big clubs are frozen on a "wait and see" approach; if he starts well next season, someone might move for him in January.

It's the Glorious Revolution all over again (a very 1880s joke)

Memphis Depay is now officially a United player.

Wales showing that, if you build a team around Bale, great things can happen.

Didn't rafa tell the Madrid pres that he wants to build a team around bale?

Ross Barkley needs to be consistent for more than his current 20 mins per match

Pretty much. Which led many to speculate Ronaldo is off or has to expect Bale is the future.

Regarding Barkley, consistency is his problem. Granted, was injured last season but many expected him to improve. He didn't. But Everton had a very, very bad season which probably didn't help him. For some bizarre reason, he's not being sent to the Euro's u21 - which is absurd.

    Maybe.
But a solid performance at the u21's could result in a higher transfer fee. At the moment, he's worth probably £25 million. If that.

The richest club on the planet is not going to offload the most marketable player on the planet.

Rafa wants to build the team around Bale, can't see Ronny agreeing to that.

He's also only about 11 goals or so away from being Madrid's record goal scorer. He'll stay at least one more season.

Austria leading 1-0 in Moscow, Putin's plan to have a contender when they host in 2018 looking very unlikely. Curious to see what happens with Capello.

Austria held on for the 1-0 win, great job, especially with Alaba out injured.

Who was that talented midfielder wearing Wilshere's shirt yesterday?
