    I hate soccer here in the north east. One team is named for a drink, NYRB. The other is Euro-posing & plays in a stadium with bad sight-lines for soccer.

    Philadelphia haves Union. What a great semi-Euro-yet-very-american-sounding name.

    This carousel of terrible managers is just incredible. Meanwhile, Alan Pardew - who, while a total nutcase, can manage circles around nearly every other English manager - is building a pretty good team out of the mound of dirt that he inherited.

    Smaller clubs have to pay a premium to get the talent they want. When you can't offer any European football, the wage and transfer bill has to go through the roof. I mean, in this regard, Man U is not all that dissimilar from, say, Toronto, right?

    Anyway, that is going to be one expensive bus parked in front the goal next season. Anything less than the title is abject failure.
