i dunno, if there's one player the 'football fees gone mad' doesn't apply to, it's Messi. the only real argument against it is his age, i'd say, but even then, you pay £200m for Messi if he's actually available. particularly if you're City and you're still building your brand.

 

No player, even Messi, should be worth that kind of money.

Alongside Lampard & Scholes he's one of the best midfielders of the last 25 years. Shame that the great generation never achieved more for England.
