Han and Leia adopt "Amelia"?

There has got to be a discussion and challenge there somewhere?

Are these grandparents read to be parents again?

 

I need some ideas for a song that describes Leia, during her Imperial Senate years. It's for a fic I'm writing and I'm not to the point where I'll be using it yet but I kinda wanted to get a head start.

Can anyone help?

Great Ideas! Thanks, I had kinda gotten stuck on "Little miss can't be wrong" by the Spin Doctors in my head and wanted some more ideas. It occured to me in reading your ideas that I should have given more in the way of context, so it boils down like this.

The fic I'm refering to is The Rise of Lady Vader and as is it is progressing towards ANH. I have already set up that Leia dated a singer named Rage Tymon for a time while she was in the Imperial Senate. He is the lead singer of Deeply Religious which I found on Wookiepedia and were banned and what not for anti Imperial songs. Any way what I have planned is for Leia to find one of their albums among Han's stuff on their trip to Bespin. Leia starts listening to it while cleaning and kinda dancing around or something like that and have Han catch her but her not notice right away. He would suprise her by saying someting like, "you know that song reminds me of you" she would jump snap something I haven't come up with at him they would spar for a momnet or get to throwing inuendo at each other, I haven't decided which yet, and eventually Leia would admit that the reason the song reminds him of her is because it was written about her.

So are you looking for more of a song sung to a girl, but not necessarily a girl working in the Senate (or some other arena)? These may be way off the mark, but:

Coldplay, "Yellow"
The Fray, "She Is"
Dave Matthews Band, "Angel"

For some reason, these songs remind me of a stubborn girl like Leia.

Which reminds me, does anyone else here have problems writing H/L in the Eu with the kids around?

I had a idea for H/L fic even got the first chapter done, and could post it.

But the issue with the fic is writing the kids in, its much easier when its just H/L IMO.

 

Though I know what happens in the EU thanks to Wookieepedia, I haven't read any of the books nor do I follow the series. So, when I write post-ROTJ, I have a lot of trouble writing the kids because I really don't know enough about them to write them in character. You're not alone.

I say go for it! And I agree, it is much easier with just Han and Leia. If you're worried about it conflicting with the EU in any way, you could just label it as an AU since the EU is considered canon. I can't wait to read the story!

What are you waiting for?

I don't have a problem writing H/L+kids, I have trouble writing the kids, period. Probably part of my problem is that I haven't read enough of the EU that includes the Solo kids, and part of it is surely that since English is not my first language, I still find kid-talk (and worse, baby-talk) very challenging.

On second thought, maybe the problem is that if you look at it from a certain anger, the typical H/L banter (specially the earlier one from ANH) is a bit childish and immature. Which creates a problem if you have to write them as responsible adults and parents. Does someone agree/disagree?

 

I think I'm on the minority with this one.

I have an easier time writing H/L when the kids are around - mostly because H/L are a great ship, but their banter pre-children always stumps me. I have a hard time with it. Responsible parent H/L is easier for me to write because that kind of banter I grew up with.

To write what you know is to make a story believable; in my case, writing H/L with the children is easier than without

 

The drive to write again, I guess, how can I explain/put this...

Ever since I got older, writing just doesn't come to like it use to.

No thats not it I stopped writing cause I didn't want too do it anymore.

When I started 6 years ago, more like 5 years ago.

I used writing as a way to deal with a lot stuff going on in RL at the time.

I know its sounds lame and stupid, but its the truth, and a lie wouldn't help at all.

Now I just find bunnies bugging me, and I kinda don't want to give em up.


As for H/L and the kids I have done it before just not for a big fic.

I think I can do it, if I wing it I know enough about the kids I think.
