    Editing with a Mac

After 7 years of primary education and 5 years of secondary using Macs, I know how this guy feels.

    Be seeing you,

Yesyesyesyes! Still ranks as one of the funniest vidoes I've ever seen.

"See the handle on the top? That's so you can attach a chain and use it as a BOAT ANCHOR!"

I know exactly how this guy feels. We have to edit on macs at school. When I was almost done editing, I lost everything when I tried to put in the credits. I had to start again

"Mac killed my inner child." [face_laugh]

As much as I hear-tell that the latest mac is actually not bad, I will never buy one... I don't give a gosh-darn about how good it is for graphic design. [face_thinking] (I won't even go into my unreasonable hatred/general dislike of the iPod.)

Macs are nice computers, in general. The smugness and elitism of Apple and its die-hard fans rubs me up the wrong way, though. "Macs never crash." My god, I've never laughed so hard in my life as when I heard that gem. My Windows PC at home crashes a heck of a lot less than the Macs I've used at uni. But no, the real reason I'm a PC man rather than a Mac man, though, is that I can pick and choose and control every aspect of my machine, from hardware to software. With a Mac, I don't have that choice. It's a computer they sell you in a box. And I don't do package systems. Simple as that.

    Word.

Nothing like a system you made with your own two hands.

Blood, sweat and tears, my friend. Only way to do it. After using my wonderful box here, I've resolved never to own another computer I didn't build myself.

It reminds me of the Napster Bad series which ended with the parody "Sue All The World".

as a mac user, I have to say I'd rather make a boat anchor out of the person responsible for unleashing OS10.4.6 on an unsupsecting public than the mac itself.

Now this is just... uncannily beautiful. Take the game Trackmania Sunrise, run through a track 1000 times, then combine the replays into one video. It's.... it's just gorgeous. Just watch it, you'll see what I mean.

And then there's this. Which you'll only get if you're an extreme computer geek. Lozza and RogueStreak will get this one, and maybe a few others, but trust me, it's damn funny. :p

Hm, interesting. I'm very into the idea of fan commentaries, and this site has 2 big things going for it: 1, they're Australian, which is a nice change from sometimes-grating American voices (as much as I generally like Nathan Butler's Star Wars commentaries, his voice can get pretty annoying after a while), but secondly, these are PAL FORMATTED. So no need to fire up Audacity and change the fraking speed because of NTSC being 4% slower (trust me, if you don't do that you have to re-sync the sound and the video every 5 to 10 minutes, which gets quite annoying). I'll have to check these out. I love that they did a commentary for the Star Wars marathon. That's completely insane, and I love it.

Will check these out and report back.
