This is just a pre-school, most schools are closed here this week for the holidays. Joys of a two income household, gotta take my kid to school while most others are off. Going to warm up the car for us, see you much later I suspect.

Warm up the car! Thats funny when its warm here!

Yeah, she wants to drive, but doesn't want to do the learning! I suppose she thinks she will just wake up one day with the knowledge and be able to drive!!

Isn't that how you learned to fly an X-wing? Just jumped behind the controls and took off. A natural, right?

    Morning y'all.

I can testify for not wanting to learn to drive. In Connecticut, one must take a test to get a learner's permit. Most people do not want to have to study for a test, what with school and all. I've been procrastinating for six months - turned 16 in August, still haven't taken the test. Not that it'd matter, anyways - I don't have anything to drive.

My daughter turned 16 in October and here its a test and study too, and its expensive. $30 to sit the test and then if you pass a further $50 for the Learners license!! She's been studying all night and did several online 'tests' but I suspect she will fail the first time. She's just not getting 'give way' laws.

My niece failed her theory first time round....then went on to ace her practical! And she's now the only driver (apart from me, obviously!) that I either trust to drive my car, or am confident enough with so that being driven does not induce 'white-knuckle' syndrome!

It costs 40 dollars for your learning permit, 50 for the G1 road test, and 70 for the G2 road test. The price might have gone up since but yeah it's really expensive over here to get your license so you better know what your doing because it can get really expensive fast each time you fail.

    Afternoon everyone

I just walked 14 miles to the nearest GameStop to buy a copy of Madden '13, and am now stuck at a Starbucks. I now feel the urgency to drive.

14 miles? How long did it take you to walk distance? Is there some kind of public transportation maybe?
