So, my birthday yesterday was good. I went out to dinner with my parents and they got me a grill and a table and chairs for my balcony, so now I have reason to use that area.

    Resurrection by erection
Raise you phallus to the sky and you never die
    It's resurrection by erection

Finally back home. Such a long, hot trip to KC. Makes me wish I had A/C working in my car.

Around here, it's an unwritten rule that you must have A/C in your car and your house. :p

    It's suicide without it.

You have no A/C in your car!

Hope you had some cold drinks!

I have A/C, but it's currently not working. I'm too lazy to have it fixed, most of the time windows down is enough. I had lots of cold drinks...and ice cream.

    No A/C in house either.

Yeah, I have A/C at my place, but my energy bills tend to be pretty high because of it. It's only a 750 square foot condo but running the thermostat at 80-82 F makes the energy bill go up to around $200 a month in the summer months because of my vaulted ceiling with a 16 foot peak.

    Ice cream is good.

I would be quite unhappy without A/C. I could deal in the car for a while, but I can't seem to sleep when it's hot.

Yeah it sucks to try and sleep in the heat. Otherwise I don't mind not having A/C. The only time is bothers me in the car is if I have to travel for more than an hour. So the 6+ hours in the car today really sucked.

Ice Cream sounds good right now. I have some Cookies and Cream in my freezer, I think I'll go have some.

We lost power for 48 hrs last summer after bad storms. Was 100+ during the day with the heat index, very miserable. And we were lucky, surrounding neighborhoods had to wait 2-3 more days.

Just as bad a county close to here has a water main issue and shut off all their customers water from late lat night until at least Friday, possibly Monday!

Speaking of storms, it rained REALLY hard yesterday. It's partly cloudy today and tomorrow, but after that we're back to several days of constant thunderstorms. The monsoon season is upon us.

I don't have A/C in my car, either... it's the worst :( Especially when you're trying to keep make-up on for work meetings. Though around here, you only really require heat in your car for the winter. No A/C sucks, but is manageable for the 3 hot months we have.

It's currently thundering here, but it's all East of me, so I probably won't see any rain today. Had a brief shower yesterday that came out of nowhere.

That's pretty much been my week too. I wish it would drop at least 10 degrees. I think it's supposed to by the weekend.
However like my dad says, next week is RAGBRAI, it's supposed to be hot.

Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa

It's the oldest and longest cross state bike ride in the US. 10,000 plus bicycle riders take a week and ride across Iowa. The route is different every year, but it always goes West to East, river to river (since Iowa has the Missouri river on one side and the Mississippi river on the other).
RAGBRAI has been described as a rolling folk festival with a church potluck thrown in. My dad says you can find everything from naked beer slides to bible studies during the week. I've heard the food is awesome. There are all ages that ride, my dad's ridden with 95 year olds! Plus there are people from all over the world. I know the 50 US states are always represented.

    You should Google it.
