    When I lived in Central Florida back in 2004, we had three hurricanes affect us: Charley, Frances, and Jeanne. Charley was the least worst. While it was the strongest, it was also the fastest. It didn't hang around and outlive its welcome. Frances or Jeanne, I forget which one, but one of those two wouldn't take a hint and move along.

    No one died, a baby was born in it.....so good all round. Hamilton Island, the resort was destroyed. Was there 7 years ago with the kids and it was amazing....now its going to take a year or more to rebuild. :(

    That's sad about the rebuilding: thinking of the various places in the U.S. that have been devastated by natural disasters, it can take so much longer than a year, depending on resources.

    But I liked your post because it's bloody FANTASTIC that no one died due to the storm!!!

    It is, isn't it Pants?!?! One lady died before the storm hit, she was in a car accident and was a British Backpacker. They said she was trying to leave the town it was going to hit.....sad. :( Queensland is our Florida. Its where the big theme parks are, its the perfect weather and its tropical. Their biggest money maker is tourism, so I imagine the rebuilding will happen as fast as it can ;)
