The rest of my life to go, this generation will not get retirement. I know for sure I won't. I'm 35 and I have maybe enough to get by for 3 months in my 401k.

My day went exactly as I expected, barely any of my work was kept up, everyone was very happy I was back to keep it up. Some of my time sensitive stuff wasn't even done which will cost the company $. But then I found out as I was leaving no raises across the board this year...so I don't know if anyone else would hire me but I need to get the he double hockey sticks out of there.

Really if it weren't for that last bit of news at the end of the day, it wouldn't have been such a bad first day back.

It is nice to have baby sleeping in my lap again though I missed him.

Yes, at this rate I'll be able to afford a 6 month retirement! But seriously if I can just take a step down and work at Trader Joe's or something when I get older instead of being stuck in an office doing a job I hate. That would help. I am going to try to look around for another job, I just don't know what's even out there or if I have a shot at anything. I have been steadily employed for 7 and 1/2 years, that ought to count for something.

 

Yup, sounds like it is time to start sending out the resume.

 

I finally gave up on waiting on the roommate leaving and went to the library. Joy.
