The one good thing about film school is that they are very liberal in what they allow us to make....people have made some wicked films with really messed-up themes, but it's all cool.

 

You forget one thing my friends...to our leader, Lenny, every day is humping day.

 

I'll tell ya a story.....


I went to college here in Dayton, and graduated in 1994... I didn't go to film school, but now I wish I had... PC was at it's height in popularity... ... I had a freind who got kicked out of the program cuz he only wanted to make horror films.... (actually I never saw them, but I heard they sucked really bad) ... but my point is that ten years ago, the only films that were found acceptable, or even given any type of nod were films about homosexuals or AIDS... It was retarded, depressing and very tiresome to read about them every week in the college newspaper... We could have used some of the random absurdity back then that I see growing with the talents of the film makers that we have in this group...

My friend now hosts a weekley show on local cable access in my town about underground horror films... Interesting dude....

I dunno... I just thought I'd share that....

Jon, that is really interesting about your college days...I can't speak for the other film schools but it seems like there is a lot more diversity in the films coming out today. I worked on one about psycho genius children, and another about cannibals...hehe. I am trying to get ideas for my own films that I will eventually have to make...
