The Bourne Insurrection

Alberto Mensa had heard the stories. Directors killed. Directors incarcerated. Deputies embezzling. Murder...drugs...money...fraud...secret organizations gone awry. In there past few years, there had seemingly been a curse upon the higher echelon of the Central Intelligence Agency. Never one to pay attention to such trivial matters, Mensa had made a promise to himself and to his nation, upon receiving the job, that it would stop. No more lies, no more rule-bending, no more unnecessary murder. Unfortunately for him, he had a country to protect. And that was much harder to do these days with scruples than without. And so it was that Alberto Mensa walked into his first "War Room", his first "Priority One" with a smile on his face, and an attitude that "a little...moral compromise...never hurt anybody. Except of course those it was meant to."

Having sworn, one week ago, that he would do whatever it took to protect this nation, Mensa was ready to make good on that promise. And Jason Bourne was trying to make him a liar.

The imposing man turned to a bespectacled young lady, sitting in front of a large computer screen. "Farmer...what's the situation?"

"Worst case, sir. Bourne has decided to re-emerge...and he's gunning for us. Last seen in Berlin, 13 hours ago. He's left two dead assets in his wake, since last week."

Mensa nodded briefly, sparing a glance around the room. These were the best of the best. Some had been here since the very first Bourne debacle. If anybody was going to stop this, it would be these men and women, right here, right now.

"Alright people, let's get to work!"


And it began.

Welcome to the Bourne Insurrection. Former CIA assassin and uberspy Jason Bourne has resurfaced, seemingly with an axe to grind against the CIA. He has been active for a little over one week, and two dead "assets" (CIA Agents from the same program as Bourne) lay in his wake. Another one has gone missing, most likely cutting all contact and hiding in India. But none of this fits. The last we saw of Bourne, he had vowed to change his ways, and stop killing. He said he was done. Is there more to the story? It is your job to figure out Bourne's motives and strategy, and to decide where you stand. Which side will you pick? Which side will win?


[b][color=red]The Factions:[/color][/b]

You can play a character in one of two different groups.

[i]CIA Taskforce-[/i] From your headquarters in America (or Europe), you are tasked with "solving" this problem. Using the intelligence you gather (or others gather for you), and working with the "assets", you will do your best to end this quickly and quietly. You'll see your fair share of action, setting up stings and such, and you'll be in charge of what the assets do and where they go.

[i]Asset-[/i] You are a secret agent/uberspy. A walking weapon. You will work closely with those in the taskforce to track down and kill Jacen Bourne. You will be doing most of the "footwork" for the taskforce. Be prepared for some fighting, and don't forget your guns.


Also, your character can be stationed wherever you want them to be in the world. If it's too spread out, I'll call you to somewhere else, but you can start out being an agent wherever you want.

If you can think of another group that you would like to play in, please don't hesitate to ask. I can't think of everything, so I'm sure your ideas will be great. Creativity encouraged!

Also, if you're interested in playing Bourne, you may ask (though I'll only allow a very experienced player to play him). It will be a fairly solitary position, at least in the beginning, but it's open if you want it, and it'd be pretty fun.

Bio:

Long time Texas CIA Operative, Bryce is one of the oldest, and deadliest "assests" in the organization. Trained to indesciminatly get the job done quickly, unlike other "assests" who were trained more in stealth, Bryce uses heavy firepower and high speed driving to get his work done. Considered an adreniline jocky, many CIA operatives belive him to be a security risk, though he has never been caught. Yet.

Bio:
Talia was born into a asian american family. They found the name in a book and enjoyed it so they named their daughter after the character. Talia was extremely intelligent always the top of her class. When she graduated high school she was offered scholarships and princeton and yale. She went to school at Yale and graduated again at the top of her class.

The CIA approached her, offering her a job as an assistant to the director. She could have had a secen figure job coming out at a business company consulting but instead she accepted the CIA's offer.

Bio: Joined the Australian Army at the age of 18, saw combat in east timor, volunteered for SAS selection at the age of 22, passed and served with the SAS in Iraq and afghanistan.

Left the Army at 26, and became a private Operator (mercenary), has performed several high risk deniable operations for MI5, showing a cold ruthlessness that has impressed and caused concern for some of his handler's. Has spent the last few months tracking and eliminating several terrorist cells in europe and Britain for various national agencies.

Personality: Reserved, emotion is rarely shown. Extensive conditioning from Treadstone has resulted in a killer with little remorse, and a sharp mind.

Skills: There is little he can't do once his mind is set to a task - proficient in close-quarters combat, firearms, stealth, and espionage.

Bio: Training and early life remains classified. Bourne volunteered for the *blacked-out* assignment which promptly fell apart after a successful infiltration of *blacked-out* yacht. What followed is unknown; Bourne resurfaced as a rogue agent in Europe some weeks later. His name has been linked to the deaths of *blacked-out* and *blacked-out* - It is of vital importance that he be taken down AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Personality: Llyr?s personality is slightly ustable, but not volatile

Skills: Expert martial artist. Llyr is proficient in many projectile weapons, and a master of stealth. His lacking people skills leave him to work mainly as a non-confrontational asset.

Bio: Joined the U.N. Peace keepers at 18, then underwent Covert-ops training. Following this he dropped off the grid for a few years, only to show up working as a hired gun in Cambodia. He was later Contacted by a United States agency to work as an operative in Europe. He has since dropped off the grid again.

Bio: Fyodor was born in Russia to a local women and a man visiting. His mother died in child-birth and his father took him back to America. He was home-schooled and taught all of the languages his traveling father had known. Fyodor enjoyed going on the round the world trips with his father and did so quite often. During these excursions his father taught him about the countries they visited.

On a visit to a small island in Indonesia, Fyodor?s father was killed by a drug trafficker. Fyodor was taken to eliminate evidence of the crime and was sold as property around the islands surrounding. He was useful to his owners, as he could speak the language of most customers and could relay threats and payment offers. Fyodor managed to escape and stowed away on a ship ride to America, when he was 17.

Fyodor lived on the streets for two years before finding a lasting job with the CIA. He was sent back to Asia and was trained to feel no fear and to kill mercilessly. The specifics of the training was wiped from all databases immediately following. He became an asset when he was 24. For two more years Fyodor was sent on odd jobs eliminating threats to the nation. He asked no questions until he was ordered to kill a politician in Arizona.

As well as the man he, as always, Fyodor was told to kill any witnesses. After he had shot the man and was escaping his winter home, he was confronted by the man?s 14 year old son. Fyodor immediately brought his gun to the kid?s head. The son stared up at him in terror and Fyodor couldn?t do it. The child had reminded him of himself at the same age, in constant fear of losing his life.

Fyodor dropped the gun and ran. He was terrified and angry at what he had become. Fyodor moved to Russia and lived without incident for 6 months. He came into contact with Jason Bourne and what followed caused him to get back into his old business of killing. Fyodor had shown Bourne hospitality and a week following, two assets arrived at his home. They forced their way in when he was away.

When he returned, Fyodor managed to kill one quickly and then fight the other. The fight eventually ended with the death of the man and the destruction of Fyodor?s home. Fyodor set out to find Bourne and possibly exact his revenge for screwing up his peaceful life. After a few brief confrontations at various locations around the globe, however, Fyodor decided to turn against his old employers and aid Bourne in whatever he was trying to do.

Personality: More of the serious type, but does have a good sense of humor. A business man, but isn?t greedy. Nathan is also very intelligent and is skilled in a number of languages.
Skills: CQB, Special Forces tactics, Counter terrorism techniques, Demolitions, and foreign languages.

Bio: Nathan joined the Marines at the age of 19, first going into the infantry, serving 2 tours of duty in Iraq. He soon became bored by the infantry and wanted something with more action, and so he filled out the paperwork in order to be transferred to Marine force recon. He served for 6 years in recon, serving with distinction and going above and beyond the call of duty a number of times, earning the Medal of Honor and the silver star. His missions ranged from assassinations of foreign personnel, espionage, snatch and grabs, and counter terrorism.

When Nathan turned 28, he figured that he would retire and put his skills to use outside the military, and so Nathan was given an honorable discharge. Nathan heard about the trade of private contracting and the money to be made from it, so he hooked up with a private contracting company, where he went into a number of Middle Eastern countries. Soon, Nathan had enough money to start his own contacting outfit.

Nathan was contacted by the CIA one day and was told to come to Langley immediately. All they told him was that they needed his skills in order track down a person of great importance.

Bio: Oscar is a retired Special Forces officer that found a career as a CIA Tactical Officer in the anti terrorist department of the Agency. Known as a hard case that demands the upmost effort, and diligence from those who work with him on assignments Oscar is considered somewhat of a outcast amongst the agency's operatives.

But his extensive knowledge of field operations world wide, and his experience as a former Special Forces commander is reason enough that most don't question his directions for they are most times made with all possible consequences noted.

The Jason Bourne case is one that never really intrigued Oscar before. But now it has caught his attention for Jason Bourne with his current actions has become priority one in regards to terriost activity against the U.S. even if his tale is one of sad reprecussions.

Oscar feels for the tale of the man known once as David Webb, but now that man is a marked enemy who refused to let things alone. Now the loose end that is Jason Bourne needs to be taken care of once and for all even if Oscar has understanding for Bourne's motives.
