I saw the Super Bowl spot yesterday and just nodded my head in approval.

What I like about Bourne is that he does his thing without a team. It's pretty much just him, unlike the other spy movies.

Of course it's an austerity riot; perhaps Bourne could apologise for Guatemala and the Arbenz regime's demise too.

 

It would be pretty awesome if the new villain was German Chancellor Angula Markoltz.

 

No, he would have to be protecting an innocent, pure, man of the people Senator named Bertie Saunders from the attacks of a vile businessman and an even more vile lady.

 

Tommy Lee Jones is a great addition.

 

Looks like it could be another new great action movie for the summer. Lookin good!

 

I like all the Bourne movies and hope Aaron Cross and Jason Bourne meet in a future film.

Every film, it's like he didn't realise this onionesque conspiracy existed and he needs to get revenge on people who lied to him.

Those Treadstone janitors are going to be up in Bourne 5.

 

That might be better than Legacy.

 

I'm just happy knowing that as bad as SPECTRE was, the Bond of Casino Royale -> Skyfall would kick the **** out of Bourne.

 

I'm really surprised they're not rebooting given the direction of franchises these days.

I'm VERY glad they're not.

 

It's looking like the trend of each Bourne film being worse than the last will hold steady. The question is, will this somehow find a way to be even worse than Legacy, or with Damon back have they decided that they only need to be worse than the last Damon film?

 

Legacy seems like it was bad, but both Supremacy and Ultimatum were clearly better than Identity (which was a good film, though not on the same level as its two sequels).

If you bring up anything to do with cinematography, bear in mind that I consider Oliver Wood's work to be arguably the strongest part of those two films.

 

The cinematography is the only thing the sequels to Identity have going for them as films. They certainly don't bother with characterization, plot, character development, or any sort of justification for why we're watching a guy who decided he didn't want to do assassin things because he doesn't like his pre-amnesia self run around doing assassin things and discover, at the climax of each film, the shocking revelation that he doesn't like his pre-amnesia self.
