So after paying high prices for Cable and only watching it a few times a week, I have decided its time I cut the cable. My parents cut the cable three months ago and they have been happy ever since. I have Hulu and after using Hulu to watch all the shows I miss. I would keep Cable but their on demand is slow and isn't available for 24 hours. At least with Hulu I can see it at midnite if I want to. I have been thinking of getting Netflix and sharing with my parents to help them out. One thing I have is Google Chrome that allows me to stream anything to my tv from my laptop. I have a smart tv for hulu so it works out. I am also going to get an antennae. So for all those who cut the cable or thinking about it, this is the place to discuss cutting and links to shows or events that you miss out on cable. Bit torrent sites linking I am not so sure about. Ask Moderators for approval before posting a link to it.
Well, perhaps we need to link to videos or websites of games. But yeah, sports makes cutting cable hard.
Is this really different enough from http://boards.theforce.net/threads/the-cable-huluplus-netflix-discussion-thread.50017964/ (a thread you previously created)?
can i be club treasurer, beezel? i think i would be good treasurer becaus i know things like math and investments since i am from new york the cty not just the state and i used to be a mathelete even though all we did was math and not sports. i could use the money we save from cutting cables to fix the stock market and if you gave me your inventions i could make lots of money on wallstreet its not that hard all you need is a suit trust me i will take good care of your moeny plus i think we should have insurance bcause i have diabetees and believe me you dont want that but dont think im socialist trying to tkae your money cus im not
Hell, I looked into HBO Go and Showtime on Demand for my Roku and found out that it's about $60 a ****ing month. That's two weeks' worth of gas in my Prius. So yeah, whoever thinks I'll pay that can bite me.
I haven't had cable since 2006, but I probably mentioned that in beezel's other thread, which I'm too lazy to open right now. I have managed to watch pretty much whatever I've wanted to watch, regardless of what channel it is on, just not always as close to the original airing time as I might like. I'm not that much into sports, I follow certain teams but I almost never watch games live, so I don't need it for that either.
Yes you should definitely link to sites that subvert paid access for free online broadcasts beezel. I can't think of any reason that would be a problem.
I enjoy going around to people's houses and cutting their cables for them. Whenever you have non-weather related issues with your cable, it means you've been visited by me. If you have satellite and have non weather related problems, it means I pooped in your dish.
I am a cord cutter. I mooch off my parents' HBO Go account, pirate everything I can't stream, and I think every show and movie ever should be on Netflix because I don't understand anything about how the whole media business cluster**** actually works. Wait, what do you mean my favorite show was canceled? There were thousands of seeders!
I enjoy cutting copper cables and then pulling them through, loading them up in my truck, then selling them for scrap.
http://news.msn.com/science-technology/us-top-court-rules-against-tv-startup-aereo Here's the thing though, why can't the major broadcasters just do the same with their own stations and not worry about the middle man that is aereo or the cable companies themselves.
