Calgary The Calgary Flames Thread!

Hello Calgarians,

I am SHAAK_GG, some of you probably met me at the Mall Walk and Toy Show a few weeks ago in Edmonton. Anyways, first, I am an Colorado Avalanche fan. But my back up team is the Flames all the way. So, is there any other Flames fans here?

Tonight the Flames are at home to the Avalanche lol. GO AVS!

 

Lucky you didn't say you were an Oilers fan Of course there's Flames fans here! Tonight's game is going to be awesome, especially since it's such a tight race. Av's are a good team, but GO FLAMES GO!!!! It's butt-kicking time!!!

Just got home from the game! Flames win 2-0, and clinch the Nothwestern Division pennant!!!

Go Flames Go, Go Flames Go. I can't wait for the playoffs to start. Finally the cup is coming back to alberta. knock on wood.

 

Congrats to the Flames, they deserved the title. Congrats to Kipper on his 10th shutout of the year. Broduer, as usual, will win the Vezina, though Kipper deserves it more than anyone.

I am pumped for the playoffs. I got a really good team in the Avs, followed by a really good back up team. You got to have back up teams, someone to cheer for if your #1 team is in trouble.

 

my number 2 team hasn't done much in a while but one day pittsburg will pull it off again. And man does Corsby rock.

 

I like Alexander Ovechkin more than Crosby. Crosby was so cocky until he played against some vets.

 

na I just think it was hard for him once mario left considering there isn't many support players on the pens. But still 95 points so far isn't to shabby.

 

I... am an OILERS FAN HAHAHAHAHA and i hate that city go figure

 

Tonight, is it the Flames vs the Kings, in Hollywood.

Lets hope Kipper can get a 3rd straight shutout!

Shootout loss. Kipper's shutout streak was broken at 161:11 minutes.

 

My Kipper can thank the Hockey gods that the playoffs don't involve any Shootouts. That's not his area of expertise.

I will confess I am an Oilers fan as well as the Flames, and am pretty freakin' thrilled about the Oilers win last night!! Sorry Shaak...about your loss. And how about Crosby last night?

 

man is Corsby doing well the 7th rookie of all time to get 100 points and considering the line up on pittsburg thats really bigger then most people are giveing him credit for. Yes the guy on detroit has 5 more points but he's also on a way better team with a great support roster. If Corsby was on that team trust me his points would have been higher as well. I really think he's going to do big thing in the up coming years.

 

I totally agree, Crosby is one of the rising stars of the NHL. I just wish Pittsburg had had a better season this year, especially w/ Lemieux retiring.

 

Game 1 is friday at 8pm I think does anyone want to go someplace to watch the game? Just a thought.

 

Got the big screen at home, so going out is moot. But if you want to come over to watch, Dooks, you'd be welcome

I'm predicting the Flames in 6, over the Ducks (those mallards are undpredictable, and Giguere isn't consitant. But they'll make it a series).
And Detroit in 5, over the Oilers.

I wish I could watch the game tonight. Unfortunatly I'm on the road to Sylvan Lake for my sons Cub Camp. Oh well Maybe get to see Sunday night game. Hopefully I can get it on the Radio tonight.

It will be fun going to Calgary for the Toy Show during the playoffs. When I am old enough- Red Mile here I come.

 

AND IT BEGINS... What a fantastic start to playoffs!

 

Flames were definitely off their games last night. They looked slow and disorganized . Well done, Ducks. Hopefully this little lesson will stay with our boys and they'll get it in gear.

All the series' are looking great - pretty exciting games all round. Nothing's a given!
