Census The Census and Games Gaming Thread v3.0 -

This is Census and Games GAMING THREAD (version the third).

The concept is rather simple. Because this is a game of forums; I mean, a forum of games (did I get that right?) we're looking at a way to showcase and involve people in a fun variety of just that: Games (go figure)!

Before we go any further: NO gamebans will be given out from this thread. Colours will ALWAYS be given out from this thread. (Because you want colors. You do!)

You're interested now, aren't you? (Of course you are.)

This thread works in conjunction with the Game Suggestions thread. This is the thread that will feature the masses of games on a continuously looping cycle. Please use the Game Suggestions thread for any games that may come to your mind. Even just simple ideas. It is the place to talk about and discuss any game that floats through here, or any game that perhaps could float through here. This thread is to play - that thread is to discuss.

While the majority of the games that will be found in here will be quick, fun and easy, it doesn't mean that this can't be a testing ground for future games that could last in this forum on their own.

Even if a game bombs, hey, why not give it a go at least once?

That can be our motto if you like. I mean, if you had wanted one. You didn't? Oh, sorry. Let's just game.



Loyal and I will "host" every game found in this thread. For most games that run on simple gears and pulleys, the creator won't host. Please don't let that hold you back - if games are successful, things can be worked out if you want to do things yourself, I'm sure. The creator of all games found in here will always be credited every time, of course.

At the other end, though, if you have a flourishing mind of game ideas in your head but are too lazy to go through with them in any host capability; well then, hehe. . . .

Now let's get to it. I can't inform you now what games we will be playing (as I don't know them all! Go get suggesting, you creative minds!) but the post following this one will be updated with them as we go - so down the line, you may always come back here to refresh your memory of what's already out there. Requests to play a certain game in this thread are always welcome (as we will simply rotate through them at random).



Remember, there're no gamebans. Don't be afraid. And there's definitely colours. Yes, <big>shiny colours</big>. Well...they don't really shine, as such, but they're definitely coloured.

The premise of this game is simple. You want "cards" to match-up... or you don't. What you do want, is for the number of cards that match-up to be the same as the number that you predicted.

[b]This game is done in approximately 48 hours.[/b]

When I announce that SNAP has begun, [i]anyone[/i] may PM me a list of five cards. Those cards being: a King, a Queen and three Jacks. These are the only cards you may play with. And you must play with that [i]exact[/i] set of cards. If I was playing the game, here's how the PM would look:

[b]Lists [i]must[/i] be sent in this format of 1 through to 5.[/b] The only thing you need to do is inform me which number coincides with which card. It is laid out in a column. Remember, there's three Jacks; one Queen; one King. You may give me any order.

After 24 hours has passed, entries are closed. Zipped shut. I will then announce, in this thread, how many people are playing the current game. See, the beauty is, [b]there are no sign-ups involved in this game.[/b] There are no contracts. I cannot sue you. But I can take you to court.

To join, all you have to do is PM me your list.

After I announce the number of players, there will be another 24 hour period during which all players who PMed me their list may PM me once again with their prediction. Your prediction is a prediction of how many different rows of three will be laid out. You'll know what I mean in a moment.

After this period is over, I will then combine everyone's PM and post the results. Here is an example of the results list:

In the above, each person's list has been aligned next to each other. [b]Each individual person's list is a column of five.[/b] There's eleven rows, which means eleven players would have made up that game.

The aim of this game is to score hat-tricks: Three in a [u]row[/u] - of the same card (okay, I admit... it's really just a 'letter' when it looks like this...). Please note, hat-tricks are only in a row; they cannot count vertically. [b]The winner of this very easy game is the person who predicts the correct number of hat-tricks.[/b]

If we have more than one correct prediction, why then, we have multiple winners, don't we. . . .

If nobody predicts correctly on the first take, I will simply not announce what everybody predicted. A new round of 24 hours will then take place and everybody has a second shot at predicting the amount of hat-tricks.

If you do not PM me a prediction, your cards will still be played, however you have no chance of winning the game. So really, you don't want to do that... but it has no effect on anybody else.

In the example above, 8 hat-tricks were scored. When you see four matching in a row, just think of it as two points. The first three are one hat-trick, and then the second, third and fourth are the second hat-trick. F
