Hi, everybody. WB me! Who the hell cares. First off, I agree with harp, this place needs to be put out of its misery.

So we're going to have yet another little survival battle. There will be no rampage or combo breaking in this version. The starting ten characters and any more added characters in the two week beginning phase will start with 20 points. After that, added characters start with 10 points. You may only -1, +1 +1, or +2 characters in the beginning phase. The middle phase, with normal point-adding-and-subtracting rules will last four weeks, which will probably take up the bulk or all of the time we spend on the in-between board (but, really, let's just euthanize this place and be done with it). The endgame (-2, -1 -1, +1) will last for however long it takes for there to be one character left standing. This survival battle can have characters from everything (tv, books, movies, games, etc...) imaginable, so long as it's not some made-up fan fiction character or is just an unpublished figment of your imagination. You may add one character either as your very first play or after you have changed the character list seven times. If you change the existing character list as your first play, you still have to wait until after you make seven changes to add your first character. We'll start off with a "once every six turns" allowance. Don't like that? AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR BUTT! //Stanley from The Office.

    We'll start with these ten:

Stanley Hudson (The Office) - 20
Solomon Grundy (DC Comics) - 20
    Kreacher (HP) - 20
Jonathan Q. Higgins III (Magnum PI) - 20
    Zoe (LOST) - 20
    Astrid Farnsworth (Fringe) - 20
Ice Cream Maker Guy (SW) - 20
Brian Griffin (Family Guy) - 20
Cato Fong (Pink Panther) - 20
    Sarah Kerrigan (Starcraft) - 20

This will either be pretty fun or the biggest turd ever. My general idea is that we shouldn't feel compelled to compare the game to any past battles. If it's got a slower pace, fine, it'll be a more leisurely, low-key game. If it's got a faster pace, fine, the quicker the merrier. No pressure, no stress, no freakin' the **** out.

    And.... here..... we.... go!

You should do it with rampage. Otherwise, the game will go on forever getting a max of three posts per day.

20 point starting and no rampage? This will take approximately eternity and seven hours.

Also, I think your "Don't like that? TOUGH" approach will generate very little interest in your game.

The JC will move before Cor sees a game through to end.
Good news is that we can always finish this on our own.

Eeth: Still here, ready and waiting to host should the game take off!

Yes, the game might not take off. It might be a total failure. I might be taking an awful large risk on top of a plenty large enough risk already by taking rampage mode out, but I simply think survival battles are better without the rampage mode. The first three certainly did fine enough without it. Let's just stop comparing and despairing, stressing out, putting the pressure on, and freaking the **** out, y'know? If it works, it works. If it doesn't, ah well.

I don't understand the love for rampage mode. It may have worked in some contexts, but there seemed to be a pretty broad consensus that it helped ruin the LOTR game.

It helped end it. The game was getting a post every eight hours. Without rampage, it likely would have gone on like that for years.

It was New Years Day, one of the most widely celebrated holidays in the world. That's hardly an indication of how the game might've progressed. I think you're also forgetting that there were days at a time when the Lost and BSG games didn't do any better.

I wanted to add Rampage (Transformers), but I see I have to make 6 other points posts first.

    I'm out.

Yeah... if you're not going to use rampage, at least let people add characters more often than every seven point posts. There has to be a little bit of fun to the game.

Alright, since this is the beginning phase and everything, players don't have to wait after making seven point posts. They can add a character, in place of adding/subtracting points, every other play they make. With that, I'm off for a few. Later.

Since you deleted my earlier one I'm going to add another character now. My old post apparently doesn't count.
