THE CHASE>>>>>

Closing on them quickly I spent more time dodging than fighting, but when I was within range, I gathered all my strength and met them like a Force-driven space-storm.

 

When it was over, all I heard was the guards at the main door still firing away....the guards that had found me were not so....aggressive.

 

I returned to the ship, and found that the powercells had completed their charge.....I gasped for breath, heaved myself back into the cockpit, and fired up the converters.

 

The engines reacted violently to the odd converter pulse, but roared to life nonetheless. I flew the Naboo craft toward the doors, and let loose with it's lasers.

 

The already damaged doors buckled outward, and the ship's shielding knocked them flat. Guards outside fired torrentially at the ship, but I made good my escape.

 

I slammed the throttle forward, shutting down everything except lifesupport and the shields.......I shot for the ionishpere.

 

One thing Naboo 'sleekies' were known for was their grav escape velocities......at apogee, I dove the ship earthward again, vectoring straight for the Jedi Towers on the western face of the continental divide.

 

No pursuit was seen, nor expected.....I sat down outside the Towers, and went to report.

 

This being an outworld post, the Towers were quiet, with only a hand full of Jedi about....I went to the comm station and made contact with Yoda.

 

"Ah, KitaruSapien, back you are, I see."

"Yea, well, the party ended a little sooner than I had anticipated."

 

"Your mission was successful, I take it, hhmmmm?"


"You could say that, except for having my ship blown out from under me, having hundreds of innocents unneccessarily endangered, and me nearly getting bore-punched more times than I care to recall!"

 

"The details you can forward later to me.....a new ship, we will find for you......but the mission, you must tell me, yes?"


"Alright, alright.....it was some sort of underground cavern that NSW rogues had been setting up for invasion work."

 

"Disturbing, this is......however....WAS, you said?"


"Yea, see, mama earth didn't take to kindly to my sealing off the cavern's opening......as it kind of took out the entire cavern system when the ceiling caved in."

 

"Bring back information, you were supposed to, yes? Why the iniative to destroy, hhmmmm?"


"Look, I didn't have a choice, Yoda! When they caught on to me, I was in so deep, it became all or nothing......at least that's what my precious Midichlorians kept screamin' at me!!!"

 

"Control, you must learn control!!!"


*sigh....* "Yea, boss, I'll work on it....right now I'd like to just get back home, if that's alright with you......I'll file a full report in the morning."


"Very well then, Grey One.......May the Force be with you."


"It certainly was this time."
