After a sci-fi convention I once got to go out to dinner with Peter Mayhue, his wife , and a bunch of fans.
He is the nicest guy, He realy loves his charactor, Loves his fans, and never gets tierd of talking about star wars and Chewie.
When I heard the rumore that Chewbacca was to be in Ep3, I was realy happy for Peter, cuz I could only imagine how much it ment to him to have an oppertunity to reprise the role.

Yes, I did.
I pmed a mod, and asked if there was a Chewbacca fan club, and that mod said not that they knew of.I was given the green light to start the club.

I love Chewie and all, heck I love wookies in general and all, but did anybody else see a point to Chewbacca being in ROTS? Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing Peter Mayhew again, especially when Yoda climbed up him like a spider, but he didn't really serve a purpose.

Maybe it was just to introduce us to the Wookiees
and their world.
Anyway, who cares; Chewy was in the movie.

He didn't get a medal in ANH, but he did get the last line in the movie. "AAAAARRROOOOGGGG"

As for his purpose in ROTS it was a funny scean and a familier charactor helps tie the to trilogies into a saga. He didn't have to be there , but it didn't hurt that he was.

Saora_Bin, I agree that Chewie didn't have to be in ROTS. He's totally awesome, don't get me wrong, but I felt that a lot of characters from the original trilogy were kind of lumped into the new one without any consideration for plot. I mean, I love them, but R2 and 3PO didn't have to be in the new trilogy, either. But think about what would have happened if Lucas hadn't stuck in everyone from the original triolgy. We might have conceivably gotten something even WORSE than Jar-Jar Binks. ::shudders::

 

Awww, Jar Jar wasne't that bad. But still I get your point.

I am glad Mr. Lucas put Chewie in III, its cool that he knew Yoda also. But I wish they had showed more of the wookies and Yoda on Kashyyyk. Oh well. And dude, R2 HAS to be in it! He is like on of the coolest droids around.
This is getting of the subject to back to chewie. But one more thing. I am glad in the prequal that 3P0 didn't tag along that much in the missions. I mean the the origanal trilagy, there was no use for him going along with the others somtimes.
Ooops, off the subject. Back the chewie.

 

Yes, chewie was a great tie-in...I wish they would have shown more of the wookiees too, I mean they kind of hyped it a little in the trailers(that's one of the main reasons I wanted to see the movie!)Oh, yes...CHEWIE ROCKS!!

 

I was happy when I saw the wookies in the ROTS trailers...but ti would've been cool if Chewie killed some clones. Like Commander Grie (sp?).

 

Yes, that would have been cool! I still liked the battle scenes on Kyshyykk, though.

 

Yah, it was awesome. Kashyyyk is one cool place. Wish I could live there....I know my dad would live there cuz he loves trees cuz he is a forester. Lol.

 

R2 is totally awesome. But if 3PO's memory was wiped, and R2's wasn't, howcome he never told Luke that Vader was Daddy? And why didn't Kenobi remember him? (Yes, I am sure that you've heard all of this before, so I won't go on)

Back to Chewie. Yes, he's awesome, but he's a lot more fun as a counterpart to Han than by himself. It really would have been cool if he'd dismembered some Storm Troopers, though.

 

Chewbacca has total ownage over everyone, can I please join.
