The Han Solo Trilogy is next on my reading list. After that, The Han Solo Adventures.

I'm still thinking about my favorite movie scene, and no comment on the pants.

Yeah HSA and LCA are a little since the EU at that time was taking baby steps and no one really knew what the heck they were doing compared to today. There are books between Thrawn and NJO that are rough too. The worst thing I last encountered was reading how the Wolfman became a Force Ghost having no prior interaction with Qui-Gon nor being an official Jedi at all.

I think the worst thing that anyone could have done concerning Chewie in the EU was killing Chewie off. Nothing is the same without him in the stories.

I haven't read anything where Chewie is dead yet. I refuse to.

I'm still upset about that...but lately it seems that the EU is killing everyone off: Solo children, Mara Jade, Chewie. That's pretty much why I don't touch the future EU, but I wouldn't mind reading about Han and Chewie's past and Lando.

And I found this little tidbit at TFN.net site..:p

    [face_laugh] That's hilarious Ludo...

I've finished "The Hutt Gambit". Now that is good EU. Has to be one of my favorites. I love when Han has to hide in the closet when Vader comes. That was so cool. I'm only 30 pages into "Rebel Dawn". Han won the Falcon already.

I actually had a tear form when I read Chewie's death. I was a little upset by it but I feel that that was a bold and necessary move by the authors. Fans complained that the stories were all the same, superweapon this, superweapon that, then of course they had the characters so predictable and nothing shocking happened that hadn't happened before. Chewie's death changed all that, it added a level of insecurity and uncertainly to the atmosphere of the EU. If the lovable Chewie was touchable then who knew what could happen? I do wish they'd put out more stories that show Han, Lando, and Chewie back in their smuggling days. A DH comics line would work for me.

I like reading about Chewbacca as a babysitter. He was great with Han and Leia's children.

I don't know if I'll ever make it to when Chewie dies. I don't read much anymore. And I prefer Chewbacca in the action. But I'd rather see him Babysitting than not see him at all.

Yeah, I understand that they wanted to do something shocking to keep readers, but to effect something that was an integral part of SW canon and kill him off for shock value seems contrived to me...and I agree, GunGanFan, I'd rather see Chewie doing anything than nothing at all.

As I have said before, the authors may have killed Chewie off in the SW books, but for me, he still lives on.
