Fanclub The Chewbacca and Han Solo Fan Club

Count me in- I grew up with a brother whose favorite SW character was Han, so I've had a long time to learn to appreciate the guy.

Also, I'm rereading Vector Prime, and Chewie's death scene is easily the best in all of Star Wars. He goes out finally fulfilling his life debt to Han by saving Anakin, then turns and shakes his fists at Dobido as it basically lands right on top of him, roaring defiantly...

Few, if any, deaths in literature are so true to the character as this- and it helps lessen the sting of losing the walking carpet a bit.

Even if you hated to read about Chewie's death in the book "Vector Prime", do you think that the way Chewie died in the story was fitting for him?

I didn't read Vector Prime, but I read about how he died in that and it was very heroic...the way I would expect Chewie to go out; protecting those he cared about most.

 

Hello, fellow Chewie and Han fans. I know this is probably redundant, but in honor of Star Wars Day, let's just post our favorite moments in the films with Chewie and/or Han.

I love seeing Han and Chewie for the first time in the Mos Eisley Cantina. The atmosphere itself just showed us what kind of characters they were. May the Fourth be with you!!

 

I just love Chewie's laugh. It's so cute.

We can just keep this going if everyone wishes. After all, every day is Star Wars day to a true fan of Star Wars.
I will think of a new topic and post it soon. Let's keep this thread/club active.

 

Finally more people who share my appreciation for everyones favorite wookie. I love chewbacca! my favorite moment with chewbacca in the films is when he is playing the game with c3po and r2d2. Let the wookie win!

 

Mine would be either that, the "old fossil" comment, or the bear hug of DOOM! that Chewie nails Luke with in Echo base.

I particularly like that last one because I'm a bit of an overzealous bearhugger myself.

 

Or the version he gave to Lando on Bespin. But I also like his arguments with C-3PO in pieces.

 

It is sad that more people do not post to this fan club. Where does everyone talk around here?

I like the scene in ESB when C3PO realizes that Chewie has put him together backwards, and Chewie laughs.
That was so funny.

And I just got a huge bit of great news...I'm going to see Star Wars in Concert at the Giant center in Hershey. Me, my dad and his wife are going, I'm so stoked by this!

On June 11, 2005, the Chewbacca fanclub came into existance.
Then, the club expanded.
On May 27, 2008, it became "The Chewbacca and Han Solo Fanclub".
We missed our club's birthday in may.

I received a book from the State Library, and it's called "Star Wars: Millennium Falcon."
It sounds interesting from the title of it.

 

Oh, HECK yes! I LOVE that book! The Falcon has such a kickass history- right from the start, she's one in a million- you're gonna love this book. Trust me.

 

Quit unintentionally rubbing it my face that I need to finish the LOTF series...

Anyways, hello everyone! A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I was a member of this club, may I rejoin please?

 

I actually need to START LotF. But that won't happen for a while, since I'm reading my SW books in chronological order, and right now I'm on Cloak Of Deception, then going back to read Old Republic: Fatal Alliance, and then I have about 10 others SW novels to read before I can get to LotF, and then start Fate Of The Jedi.

 

You know I had told myself that as well this summer. I'd start reading everything after ANH in chronological order, but I still haven't started. I should kick myself into doing so...

 

Han Solo has always been my favorite Character in the Saga. And who doesn't love Chewbacca. Always loved how they interacted in the films.
