We also have Maz, too, of course. A Force sensitive who chose not to follow the Jedi path, but has still ( secretly, during the time of the Empire ) 'kept the faith' somewhat during her life, and even collects Jedi relics. I wonder how many others like her there are? It feels like she is connected to this idea that they are exploring here, even if she isn't necessarily a member of the Church of the Force.

Something that struck me when seeing the film a few times was LST's dialogue. Telling Poe that giving him the map would begin to 'make things right'.The way he said it was to be almost an admission of some responsibility for things not being so. Then the fact that he and Kylo Ren know each other from when he was Ben Solo. Did LST play some indirect role in his turn? Was LST involved in the Jedi Academy even? I feel that while the beginning of TFA was one of the stronger openings of the series, it is also weakened by the lack of exposition, perhaps unnecessary in the grand scheme of things but anyone without the Visual Dictionary would have zero clue who those guys on Jakku were and why one of them - who looked like a Jedi even - had a map to Luke.

My take on Lor San Tekka, is that he was a recruiter of sorts for Luke's new Jedi Academy. I imagine Luke was too busy training his students to actually find them in the Galaxy to begin with. I think Luke and Lor San Tekka started up a friendship through a common link of knowledge of the Force, and LST may have even been Force Sensitive, but not enough to train fully as a Jedi; as well as being too old to start the rigorous training of a Jedi. So he became a recruiter for Luke, with his Church of the Force. The only question I have, is why was he on Jakku, but not taking care of Rey?

But why he didn't take care of her? Luke lived with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru on a moisture farm, Rey lived all alone and made her home in the downed remains of an AT-AT.

The whole Dogmatic views on the Force, Sith, Jedi, COTF, Balance, Light, Dark, Grey. Well it could set up new villains in the "final trilogy" 10, 11 & 12 could b about a group or movement who points out that 4 the last 25,000 years most interstellar wars have bin started by Force users. This new group wants 2 wipe out ALL Force users & the MC's in your cells, thinking that it will finally bring galactic peace.

It stands to reason that Maz is not the only other Force Sensitive in the Galaxy. I would imagine there are defiitely others like her who know how to use the Force in some aspect. I am curious exactly how Adept she is in the Force? I get the idea she knows how to use the Force more than the movie lets on.

With Maz and now Chirrut Imwe, the door is wide open for other force sensitive individuals contributing to the story in their own ways. So as to not confuse the mainstream audience, I doubt if we'll see Luke sharing screentime with non-Jedi force sensitive beings.
