Word on the wire is Costa Rica planning to dispute the match. Good luck with that.

They can dispute whatever they want. If they are successful, we get to dispute any bad result we get on horribly crappy pitches in Central America.

Here are some pics from last night:

USMNT is now 1-0 on games played on Hoth.*

Guzan was great. Jones was great. He, of course, had his typical Jones mental breakdown, but at least it didn't result in a yellow. It probably should have, but that's another discussion. I hadn't realized that Beasley's closing in on 100 caps. A game of contrasts to the match against Honduras in so many ways.

Nice picks, Inty. If I had been there, I'd still be bundled up. :p

*Okay, I can't claim it as my own...I think that Matthew Doyle retweeted it today. But it's totally true.

This is one of those times that the quick reply isn't helpful.

Columbus Crew got a great win today. On the road, against DC United who were on a 19-game unbeaten streak at home, without their first choice striker (Jairo Arrieto, called up to Costa Rica), I would have been thrilled with a single point. Instead, thanks to a couple of miscues from Bill Hamid and the Crew being able to take advantage of them, Columbus got three big road points.

0-0 at the half, that's a victory for the US given how they were playing at the beginning of the game.

and now we play the waiting game. which sucks.

No USMNT games until May 29th. And that's a friendly. No competitive games until June 7th.

Also, anyone else slightly tempted to use the semi-blasphemous "Timmy Who-Ward?" in response to Guzan's last two games?

Stuart Holden back in a starting XI today! He played 62 minutes for Sheffield Wednesday.

Landon Donovan also back today! Not starting, but used as a substitute for LA Galaxy today.

Yeah it's a ****ing holiday. Also I really need them to win a game. Enough of these draws already. I am not getting excited for one point.

Well, I guess the comparison were inevitable. :p Although, the Galaxy seem like they'd be more of the Empire establishment than the Rebel Alliance.
