If someone calls TCW's writing good:

I've enjoyed some of TCW but I definitely wouldn't call it good quality writing, especially since when I read good quality writing, I should have no idea who the author's favorite characters are. Filoni and the writing team are about as subtle about that as Tim Zahn is.

Hmmm... maybe if we amped TCW to Deadman Wonderland levels of violence and there was lots of sex in it.

Naturally I don't think its fair to compare TCW with Game of Thrones. I compare TCW mainly to western animation when I look for something to compare it with. I actually tend to set Avatar/Korra aside in western animation discussions because while I like it, its just something else. I think TCW is superior to the majority of animated action on TV like the new TMNT which I started watching recently on Nick and Transformers Prime. I also like it better than Young Justice. I also think TCW stands up well when compared to the best of the 90s like Gargoyles and Batman: The Animated Series. Most of the time when I use Power Rangers in comparison its to highlight the most campy elements of TCW usually in a bad way, there is no contest Power Rangers sucks. I would never compare TCW to anything like South Park, Archer, or Venture Brothers unless its to list favorite animated shows in general.

The animation itself is beautiful, overuse of certain character models aside.

I can't make the comparisons to cartoons after 1990 or so as I have watched very few of them, so I compare it to other fiction, including other Star Wars fiction.

Even TCW vs Microseries is kinda apples to oranges since in my mind they are different products. Really unlike Samurai Jack and Sym-Biotic Titan I find it hard to compare the Microseries to alot of action cartoons. It fits better when compared to something like Danny Phantom than it does in a straight up compare to Gargoyles. TCW is the other way around.

Yeah...Game of Thrones is a thousand times better than TCW. Easily. But considering the difference in the length of episodes, the fact that Thrones was written unambiguously for a maturer audience, and the corresponding affinity for stronger world-building and characterization due to those advantages, it's really a strained comparison. TCW can be the more enjoyable series for some due to its Star Wars content, I suppose, but when looking at the points of writing strength, world-building, characterization, series continuity, and even setting/effects, Game of Thrones shows itself to be superior at the base of it.

Clone Wars is far superior at the base....its Star Wars. How can you compare a soft core porn to star wars lol.

The brand name doesn't guarantee quality. Also nice to see you obviously didn't read my post, as GoT is not a mere porno.

Well i've been brought up with Star Wars since birth, and its the greatest series out there by leagues and leagues. While I agree brand name doesnt guarantee quality, in TCW's case just look at the product. It not only matches the standard quality of star wars it exceeds it... Game of thrones is nothing compared to Star Wars just because you don't believe it's a porn doesn't change the fact they they throw in a nude sex scene every single episode. No normal sow does that. The story is lame too, people say its great.. I think its just lame and random. I know spoilers about whats going to happen since my dad loves the series and told me. Its all random dude. Sorry :/

They... don't throw in a nude sex scene every single episode. Like I said before, 0.01% sexual content. Oh, and Game of Thrones is not a normal show, it's extraordinary, well written with good actors and great set design.

I don't even think it's worth arguing with you, it's obvious you don't have an even somewhat-objective view of this.

Not posting spoilers in here in case people haven't read the books, but it's totally going to make me cry. :_|

LOL at the idea that "nude sex scene" equals "bad."

It depends on who is having sex. ;)

I don't know at least the writing is nothing like that of a certain cartoon from my childhood that I may or may not have on dvd.

If someone bashes all of TCW in one sweeping statement with zero explanation:

Not sure where the fine line is between that and baiting.

    There's opinions... then there's delusions.

GGrievous, serious question: If you hate TCW so much, why do you a) Watch the show, and b) post on this forum? Your logic completely eludes me.

    1. Because the name of the forum is "Live Action, Clone Wars and Classics," not "TCW Fan Club." He isn't violating the TOS by posting here.

    2. It's none of your damn business why anyone else posts.

Thinking it has less to do with the terms of service, and more to do with the purpose.

From a purely philosophical perspective... consider 1 Corinthians 10:23. Don't worry, there's nothing religious in there.
