No word yet on if the Rave will have a midnight showing.

On Saturday, August 16th (noon 'til 4:00pm), Chattooine will set up at the Rave Theater in East Ridge, TN to help promote the next installment of the Star Wars franchise: The Clone Wars. The Rave is on board with letting us use their facilities to help promote Chattooine while we provide exposure and entertainment to movie-goers.

We'll arrive around 11:30am to set up and/or to get dressed (if wearing a costume). The tentative schedule is below although it may get tweaked as we get more details from the Rave upper management. We'll be making flyers to promote the event for around town and (hopefully) at the Rave itself (still waiting on confirmation from their management on if we can hang signs on their doors). We'll use their party room to set up any game systems we bring.

noon - 4:00pm: costumed characters outside/inside THE RAVE theater
noon - 4:00pm: video game (Battlefront II) - open play
noon: Rob and Anthony (from The Jedi Assembly) dueling sessions
1:00pm: Rob and Anthony dueling sessions
    2:00pm: Jedi Academy
    3:00pm: Costume Contest
3:30pm: (after costume contest) Rob and Anthony dueling sessions

Everything except the video game stuff will be outside (weather permitting). The Rave will allow us to move inside if it's raining, but we may not be able to to the dueling session and part of the jedi academy if that's the case. So no rain! We may possibly have a Star Wars Jeopardy tournament outside as well. We'll finalize everything at our next meeting (Aug 11) while discussion and fine-tuning takes place at our other forums.

We had a really good time and was well received by everyone.

We arrived around 11:30am to set up. It seemed like rain was a possibility, but we decided to set up outside anyway as there was a nice breeze and it never got hot. The rain never came where we were, but unfortunately it did rain in other areas which caused Dan and R2 to remain home. I know they both hated missing it, but I doubt R2 is waterproof. By the time we were ready to take over The Rave, we had several costumers ready to go.

Once everyone was changed into their costume, it was a steady stream of people the entire time. Loads of pictures were taken and even the theater managers came out to take some pics. The Rave gave us a few free popcorn and tickets to give away as prizes and even brought out pitchers of drinks to us. There was a kid who was having a birthday party in their "party room" (which is where we were going to have Battlefront II set up, but scrapped it when that room was booked), so we took a squad and raided his party (to his delight). Our own Beenie seemed to be the star of the show as they had him serving concessions and in the ticket booth! Our table had flyers set out for both Chattooine AND ConNooga, as we had more than a few ask about the convention and even a few that wanted to work staff.

We had several Clone Wars coloring pages set out. Anyone who colored a page was entered into a random drawing to receive a prize and a Chattooine patch. Alex split his duty as he started out as a Snowtrooper, but changed into his Jedi garb for his Jedi Academy. It went over well, as there were a lot of kids dueling jedi and even Vader. Star Wars Jeopardy was fun as well as we were able to fit in 2 games as the time neared 4:00pm. Afterward, we packed up as some of us stayed over to watch The Clone Wars.

Here's some more pictures:. The Rave managers said they would e-mail us the ones they took as well. Mission success!
