The Droid Duo has to be before the Malevolence trilogy, and if you're factoring in web comics, Ambush has to as well.

Perhaps Blue Shadow Virus and 1000 Moons are in the wrong place, since the tactical droid is (officially) introduced in the Ryloth trilogy. So, these two should come after the Ryloth trilogy, just like the two episodes with Aayla.

There is a tactical droid in Hidden Enemy, which takes place before the movie.

Where are people putting hostage crisis??? I've got it after Gungan General....
    Tresspass
    Rookies
    Movie
    Dooku Captured
    Gugan General
    Hostage Crisis
    Ambush

    Here's my updated newsreel order:

    The Hidden Enemy
The Clone Wars (A New Padawan, Castle of Deception, Castle of Doom, Castle of Salvation)
    Downfall of a Droid
    Duel of the Droids
    Rising Malevolence
    Shadow of Malevolence
    Destroy Malevolence
    Bombad Jedi
    Cloak of Darkness
    Lair of Grievous
    Ambush
    Rookies
    Dooku Captured
    The Gungan General
    Storm Over Ryloth**
    Innocents of Ryloth**
    Liberty of Ryloth**
    Jedi Crash
    Defenders of Peace
    Hostage Crisis
    Trespass*
    Blue Shadow Virus**
    Mystery of a Thousand Moons**

*Episode could be placed before the film, but is instead placed like so due to production order indications, as well as lack of pre-movie confirmation by Lucasfilm.
**Episode could be placed earlier (but still after the film), but is placed like so due to production order indications.

It'll be easier to place it after we see Cargo of Doom and if there are any references to Cad- since COD was #13 in Season 1's production order, if HC ends up remaining a prelude to COD, then HC could be earlier than currently suggested.

i think trespass is taking place after the movie and blu shadow virus and 100 moons becouse in webcomic clone mentions christophsis and anakin and obi must have been sent to orto plutonia after ahsoka was taken to recover after virus effects thats why she isnt in the trespass.

It's alot easier on the eyes taken into the context of the full timeline, where films, young adult books, short stories, etc also have their own color code, and obviously you want the more important content (adult books, comics and games) to "pop" more than the more obscure material.

The TV coloring was chosen as being a merger of the color coding for the films (think my VIP color scheme/opening titles of a SW film) and video games (purple text)- thus I combined the purple with the black background.

If your curious, the full timeline can be found here

Ambush comes before Rising Malevolence, since in the Prelude webcomic, Jek says that the Republic cruisers must still be trying to hunt down the Separatist mystery weapon, which concludes that the Republic has not yet found out about the Malevolence.

I kind of like that Jedi Crash/Peace duology comes right before Hostage Crisis. In HC Anakin mentions that he has a meditative retreat, considering he'd been seriously injured recently, I think that the jedi might give him leave and tell him it's a meditative retreat.

The above photo is apparently from Cargo of Doom, in the space over Devaron.

An update to the Rookies newsreel.

    Rookies newsreel:

    Ambush
    Cargo of Doom
    Cloak of Darkness
    Lair of Grievous
    Shadow of Malevolence

Footage from the space over Devaron in Cargo of Doom can be seen in the Rookies newsreel. Whether or not this greatly changes the episode order, I'll have to see.

Nope, it doesn't seem to destroy the order too badly. It just means that the two newest episodes take place in the middle of what we've seen in Season 1. I was dreading that Holocron Heist's newsreel might have stuff from episodes post-Rookies, but it turns out that there isn't any newsreel footage from past episodes at all. The guy just talks in the background while the episode itself begins over Felucia.

Wow, so we really haven't heard from Ventress since Ambush. Yoda must have really hurt her feelings.

Going by the newsreel order, no, we haven't. In fact, I don't think we've seen Grievous since Lair of Grievous, either, which is right before Ambush.

Anyone notice anything that suggests Hostage Crisis was set before HH & COD?

One continuity anchor: Cargo of Doom is definitely after Duel of the Droids, as Trooper Denal appeared in that episode and is seemingly killed in COD.

I don't think there was any reason to think COD was before DOTD but I figured I'd mention it for reference.

Ok, so the web comics establish HC as taking place before HH & COD. So the question remains if this Bane trilogy's placement should favor COD's production # (the trilogy set mid-season 1) or HC's production # (set at the end of season 1/start of season 2).

What was shown in HC's newsreel? That could be a deciding factor.

Defenders of Peace, TCW movie, and a scene with Tyranus, Grievous, Tambor and Gunray.

Defenders of Peace footage would favor the later placement.
