    From that article linked above:

Star Wars: The Clone Wars gives audiences a different look at Separatist leader Count Dooku, and also introduces a new set of villains in "Dooku Captured," an all-new episode of the hit animated series directed by Jesse Yeh, premiering at 9 p.m. ET/PT Friday, January 2, on Cartoon Network.

The episode finds Anakin and Obi-Wan attempting to capture Dooku, only to discover the Sith Lord has already been kidnapped by intergalactic pirates.

Yeh says the episode reveals more insight into Count Dooku's descent from Jedi Knight to his lofty place within the ranks of those wielding the dark side of the Force.

"I have always been interested in the drama behind this particular character," Yeh explains. "He thinks realistically, and has a solid mind. The actions he takes are always so direct and straight forward.

"In a way, he's almost pathetic. His mind is constantly being twisted by his pride, which is what originally led him to the dark side. Because of his pride, he doesn't realize he has turned into exactly the sort of monster that he once fought against. From his perspective, he is not doing anything different from what he did when he was still a Jedi. He's just trying to save the universe -- but this time from what he sees as a corrupt Republic. In the end, he's become just another expendable pawn of the true evil."

Yeh said Dooku's position as a prisoner in "Dooku Captured" provided a dramatic and animation challenge. "Dooku is no longer in control of the situation, do we had to spend some time trying to figure out how to animate this 'tamed' Dooku."

In addition to working with Dooku, Yeh said it was particularly exciting directing an episode that introduces new characters.

"The pirates have a gangster-like society. The fact that they were actually capable of capturing the legendary Dooku took me by surprise," Yeh says. "Since the pirate chief is a new character, there were really no limitations on how to bring him to the screen. As a director, I got to determine who this new character would be -- how to bring out the combative and greedy nature of this particular species, and put those characteristics onto the very surface of his performance."

It also says that Kowokian Monkey Lizard is named Pikk Mukmuk.

Looking forward to this- Corey Burton has been awesome as Dooku.

It's awesome that they're including a Kowakian Monkey-Lizard, but does it REALLY have to look like something out of 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes'?

    Pretty excited about this episode.

It's always fun to have Obi-Wan and Anakin together, and Dooku was one character I wish Lucas could have used more in the PT, I thought he was a great idea for a villain.

I've been hoping the entire time that TCW would get into some of the territory explored in the Dark Horse SW:Republic series, discussing a "schism" within the Order and why some Jedi tended to sympathize with Dooku.

Will we possibly see Sora Bulq? Is he the new pirate boss? That's my guess.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!! I am also looking forward to this one. Is he captured, or is it some kind of a ploy to decieve the Jedi??? We'll all see friday!

Can't wait to see this episode. But I think this whole episode is a setup so that the Jedi would let their guard down. But that is just me.

:confused:I was assuming the whole thing was a set-up. Dooku can take a bunch of non-FS Weequays, can't he?

Mmm, I'm hoping the "different look at Dooku" doesn't come out too far astray from Dark Rendezvous. That book really nailed the character perfectly.

Dooku can just take out the pirates with some force lightning even though he doesn't have his lightsaber with him,so yeah it is a set-up. Don't they got info on all the first season episodes on wookieepedia?

Broke my own rule and came into this thread before the episode! But I had to come in to say:

Happy New Year everyone! Hope the holidays were good to you all. SO glad we're finally up to the next new episode. Three weeks was too long of a wait!

    Happy New Year, Soral!

I was pretty angry with the three week wait, but the time went by surprisingly quickly. I'm excited to have the show back. This looks like a pretty solid episode. Can't wait to see how it all plays out. Monkey-lizards for the win!

I dig Dooku in the series. Thought he would really lose sometheing without Christopher Lee's voice, but Burton has done a pretty good job so far.

If I hear the words "Darth Tyranus" or "Lord Tyranus", I'll mark the episode with a high grade.

It can't be a set-up. According to the episode's director, Jesse Yeh, "Dooku is no longer in control of the situation, do we had to spend some time trying to figure out how to animate this 'tamed' Dooku." Also, on a different note, this week's comic is online.

    Pretty cool lead-in.

I was a little confused by the end there, until I understood Anakin did it intentionally. Either that, or Force telepathy is even more impressive than I thought. ;)

LOL I was also confused. At first I was like, 'What?! Those must be some pretty powerful droids to be able to capture Anakin...' [face_blush]

Anakin being captured (whether intentionally or not) seems like a pretty momentous thing to be left for the webcomic. Won't it be a little strange to start the episode with:

"Anakin has been captured by the Separatists, and Obi-Wan is coming to the rescue!"

I bet a lot of people will go: "WHAT? Uh? When did THAT happen? I thought they hadn't aired any episodes during the holydays!!"

Yeah, I see what you're saying... But that won't affect us, the diehard fans who read any and every comic and article pertaining to the series. Too bad for them if they don't know what's going it; it's their own faults.
