Hm, Rush Clovis must be the senator that we saw in the trailers. and cato neimodia....awesome. do you guys think this is the first part of the "geonosis trilogy"?

 

This episode just isn't saying "action" to me. Dont get me wrong, i loved the last episode for all it's OT nods and character development and im sure that this episode will be once again up to the very high standard already set this season.

But....

Im really itching for some clanker scrapping. All the previews looked like we were in for a season of top to bottom explosion riddled force ruckus but so far we've had like one and a half decent fights.


They should change the title of the show to "Clone Disputes"


on a side note, do you think we're gonna see Lucas's version of "that business on Cato Neimoidia" that doesnt count?

 

you know, you can't have all episodes like boom bang action adventure. I must say that for season 1, I had originally thought of Trespass to be a boring diplomatic episode, but it turned out to be great. I understand your worries though, since we don't get a preview video anymore and we don't know what to expect, but George Lucas doesn't make boring things (aside from Ep. 1)

 

I have nothing against a couple of non-action episodes, as long as they are well written. If they take these chances for some good character development and cool dialogue, I'm all for it.

I don't get why people always complain that the show is called Clone Wars and yet only about half of it deals directly with the wars. The series is called Star Wars, and yet more than half of the films were not about the Galactic Civil War directly, it was farmboys chasing droids, cantina brawls, training in swamps, fighting gangsters, etc...

 

But even with all the droid chasing and swamp somersaults the films still peaked with some sort of massive throwdown at the end. If these are "mini-movies" especially "mini starwars movies" should they not follow suit?

Its really not a major gripe with the series, I honestly dont mind the odd wordy episode, but if friday's episode plays out without any real "agressive negotiation" i shall be a tiny bit miffed as 3 of the 4 episodes have been this way.

Also, why do character development and action have to be exclusive? Trespass had a fair share of both and worked out fantastic. Best episode of season 1 IMO.

 

Actually, I just lied, Trespass was my second favourite. Hostage Crisis was my favourite episode because of all the brutal killing.

I do have to admit that I like the action episodes the best, liberty on ryloth, jedi crash, hostage crisis, children of the force... and I'm sure this episode will have a bit of action in it. Trust in the crew.

Also, usually on Wednesday evening(US)/Thursday morning(EU) the official article + episode clip are posted at the OS and bigshinyrobot. These may give you a better picture as what to expect from this episode.

Yeah, I was afraid you wouldn't be able to use your Manager-html-powers to edit my post and make the picture look right. Guess I should wait until I'm a Manager before posting another episode thread.

 

Hopefully this episode will lead to the Geonosis episode arc.

Padmé investigating a senator is not the most intriguing of premises, that's for sure. As long as it's well written I don't care if the episode is not all that exciting, they can't all be winners....

 

Well, I expect the dialogue will be pretty good, it's just I can tell you what happens right now:

(1) From the clip, the Council has suspicions on this one Senator. They want Padme to spy on him.

(2) Padme plays the seductress to get close to the Senator. Anakin comes in at the wrong moment, with Padme being a great actress, and loses it, blowing Padme's cover and they get to have their first big couple's screaming match onscreen.

(3) Lots of foreshadowing for what happens on Mustafar in ROTS.

(4) The end.

 

You forgot: "Count Dooku's new droid foundry. Jedi Council has to see this evidence."

And then, hopefully, Geonosis arc with Ki-Adi as a bonus.

 

Yeah, this is obviously the first episode of the Geonosis Arc.

 

Or Padme will get ticked at Anakin and go to Cato Neimoidia herself, transmit the data to Anakin, and get kidnapped by Poggle and taken to Geonosis.

 

Padme is going to die! oh no!

 

Ok. The folks directing the shows by now MUST have had, perhaps once, just fleetingly, the slight notion that maybe, just maybe, the Padme's-been-kidnapped plot has happened once before?

Or twice before? Thrice? Ten times? Maybe more?


And now she's traveling to one of, if not THE, Trade Federation home base? For what? Just some kicks and giggles?

Did some Lucasfilm elite decide "Hey, Padme's been captured waaay too many times already. Let's make her volunteer this time!"

At this point I'm surprised she survived long enough to have Luke and Leia.

Padme has become a total joke character, IMHO. I'd rather take an Ahsoka-centric episode over yet another 'Padme gets captured' one.

I'm not really looking forward to this one. For one, I don't like Padme in this series. One moment she's like some Lara Croft and the other she's just some girl who doesn't really remind me of the Padme in the films. Maybe it's her voice, I don't know. She really annoys me, also in Hostage Crisis.

But then again, I wasn't really looking forward to the last episode either, and it blew me away. (Except that they unnecessarily used Mustafar, in my opinion.)

 

If you remember, Anakin actually did get captured in the last episode with Padme.

I'm really looking forward to this episode. If handled right, this could advance the Padme and Anakin relation in a way that has not yet happened in this series. If handled right, we'll have to see.

Has anyone found the trailer for this show yet? I still can't see it online.

 

This episode looks really good. I'm glad to see some Senate type episodes for once. Can't wait! Will be great as usual.
