So, who the hell IS that voluptuous twi'lek? We don't have any other new names appart from Cut, and this girl has already appeared in two screens, she's gotta be important in the episode.

Oh look, a girl Twi'lek in a skimpy outfit.[face_plain] I guess they've outdone Senate Spy Padme.

LawJedi: It's like we've been on a pattern lately: we agree on something, disagree, agree, disagree.[face_thinking]

I hope this pink Twi'lek won't be a love interest for Rex.

Honestly, its bugged me as far back as Slave Leia. I just don't get behind Lucas' reverence of classic pulpy female sluttiness.

I don't see too many male Star Wars characters with big, bulging Khan-style chests, like on the cover of a Burroughs novel.

But I'm just built that way. [face_whistling]

Ah, nothing says Star Wars then a scantily dressed woman.

The only solution I can think of is that she is Cut's wife.

That's a very interesting theory. If that's the case, Cut would not only have abandoned the army, but also married (which clones are probably not allowed to) and married a non-human at that, which is also frowned upon in some circles.

Well, from that screenshot one can understand why he would do such a thing.

Cut Lawquane & Who Are The Clones?
A very nice little clip showcasing several of the clone characters and introducing Cut Lawquane at the end. I have to say I like his design, very rugged.

I'm getting really tired of half-dressed females in Star Wars. I always theought slave Leia was just a one-time thing, but the we got the two Twi'leks in Episode 1. Oh, but that was different. They stepped it up by making their outfits TRANSPARENT. And now they expect us to beleive a fourteen-year-old Jedi Padawan is allowed to walk around half-naked in the TEMPLE? Maybe it's part of the Jedi Trials. They're testing all the guy padawans. I hope this trend stops.

I'm getting REALLY tired of all these complaints about scantily clad women in SF media.

Seriously. The prudeness here is of such levels that one wonders if this is a bible community.

Can we stop bitching about Ahsoka's outfit already. There's nothing sexy about it. Been there, done that a zillion times and got a *********** of lousy t-shirts.

Why don't you all petition Dave Filoni for all the Twileks to wear Burkas from now on.

    Anyway.

So I'm wondering if we'll see this Twilek in action.

Also, that Clone's tattoo is pretty outrageous.

    Edited for language. G_M.

I agree Humble, when I saw the image I was wondering how many people here would mention the scantily clad Twi'lek with a weapon(which is pretty cool, btw):p

I think this episode will present some issues in relation to the clones and what they can and cannot do: desert the army, fall in love and marry(and a non-human to boot) and perhaps defend against other clones that may want to take matters into their own hands in regards to the desertion...it will be interesting to see Rex's reaction upon encountering Cut Laquaine(sp?).

And did I see the cast right? Obi-Wan and Grievous? Oh man, I wonder if we will see that duel that was in the trailer released back in July.[face_thinking] :D I hope so!

Cut's wife was my guess, too, since Cut's "family" is referred to in some preview copy. Would that be the first G-level interspecies relationship? (There was some interspecies snogging at Ziro's speakeasy in the movie, but that place is full of all kinds of perverts... hell, Gha Nakht was there.)

    Half Twi'lek kid, anyone?

I was about to post about how much I like the designs of revealing women( [face_laugh]) but decided not to for obvious reasons.
Ahsoka's design is fine. It makes sense because she is a teenage girl trying to grow up.
It'll be interesting to see how Cut's life is different from the ordinary clone...

Well, there's prudes and there's exploitation. Listen to Carrie Fisher talk about the emotional discomfort of the metal bikini, and try to convince me that exploitation is not the appropriate term.

Until the amount of bulging male chests and bare midriffs in these genres equals the exploitation of female characters, you simply do not have a point. There's also frankly a blatant difference (for example) between the outfit worn by Superman and the outfit worn by Wonder Woman.

Hey, let's see Anakin or Obi-Wan in a metal bikini. :p

EDIT: Okay, that was soapbox-y, but I just don't like the claims of prudishness.

I'm just as opposed to sexism as anyone else.

Scantily clad women are everywhere, not just in SF, but everywhere. Billboards, TV, movies, games, you name it. It's just so omnipresent that I don't understand why it needs to be brought up again and again on a Star Wars discussion board.

Yeah, but I'm going to continue to rail against society's worst cliches existing in works and franchises that I love.

That's one reason I love Ahsoka so much: she defies so many stereotypes of male driven popular fantasy. She's a non-sexualized, genuinely strong and heroic young female protagonist. In the era of Twilight's Bella, who only exists to be in a relationship with her man, that's needed.

Even Pixar, arguably the greatest pop filmmakers of this era, haven't done a movie with the main character being a female. (Yet.)

    *end soapbox*

Meanwhile, I expect Twilek's to wear little clothing. Honestly, I think that its just part of their culture at this point, just as elaborate, ornamental fashion is part of Naboo royalty/leadership fashion.

The Twi'lek's outfit looks really uncomfortable. [face_thinking] I can't see the practicality of it.

However, as LawJedi said, I think it's just part of their culture. I wish LucasFilms would tone it down a bit on the scantily clad women -I'm no prude, but it gets irritating after awhile, and it does start to border upon exploitation after a fashion. I wish that LucasFilms would focus more on character development and plot than on having random, barely-clothed women show up, but maybe I'm interpreting things incorrectly. Barriss and Luminara were both covered up, after all.

Whoa...an episode without Anakin? Force forbid!

I'm looking forward to this episode. Mainly because it seems to feature Captain Rex.

Damn, I was hoping that Cut Lawquane or whatever was the Twi'lek, which leaves the burning question of who she was.

    Hmmm...Uh...I give up.

But seriously, a Clone deserter...didn't they already do that with Alpha-Ø2? Maybe it turns out that the two have too similar backstories and are retconned into one character.

But then again, who would really want that?
