Ki-adi might be in this ep being that one of his clones is seen with two entirely new clones. They all wear ear muffs.

I actually really liked this episode.

Anakin was very Anakin, Obi-Wan was very Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka was not present.

There were still some cringeworthy parts: the battle droids saying "Roger, roger" before turning and their heads bump into each other" (seriously, that's the worst battle droid humor yet), Trench's dialogue (but not as much as Grievous's), and the very lulz-worthy line..."

Did anyone else notice how much like the first Kirk vs. Kahn battle from Wrath of Kahn this episode was? Most notably Trench saying "There she is" when the Republic fighter appears, and Trench not being able to raise the shields. I'm also pretty sure I recognized at least very similar music from the same battle as well as either part of Nero's theme or a variation of it.

Great episode in my opinion. Lots of references to the Original Trilogy.

"Help us General Kenobi! You're our only hope!" Must run in the family I suppose.

The stealth ship was an interesting idea. I think it might have been Corellian, judging by the sound of the engines when it took off from Kenobi's flagship. Sounded like a YT-1300's engines.

"Cloaking devices aren't usually on ships this small."
Nice reference to TESB, especially when you couple it with the scene reminiscent of the Falcon swooping past the Avenger's bridge.

So, this episode takes place immediately before the film, and it appears to be one of the first times that Anakin and Yularen have worked together, judging by Yularan's dialogue.

Trench (Mister Spider) was an interesting villain. Yularen's comment about him being in command of a Corporate fleet, reference to the Corporate Sector Authority maybe? At least the CIS's fleet commanders are somewhat competent. Trench and Mar Tuuk both seem to get results. I also like his tactic for dealing with cloaked ships, locking onto their magnetic signature. He was a much more dangerous threat than say, Wat Tambor.

I also liked how they fit in a little side plot with Spark and the commander. Its little touches like this that help characters stand out. A rookie is taken on his first run, and integrates into the team.

As always, the animation was superb. The opening battle between the moon and the planet was gorgeous to watch. Trench had quite a fleet with him. Oh, that also reminds me of another OT reference. When the port side Venator is hit at the start, I was reminded of the part in ROTJ when the star destroyer bites it in Ackbar's view port while he's ordering all fire on the Executor.

The explosions were very pretty, especially the magnet torpedoes blasting apart the flagship. The lighting used when the cruisers hid behind the moon was very cool, as were the sweeping shots when the fleet pulled back.

The Hyena bombers just look cool. Its a vulture droid mixed with a TIE Bomber and a TIE Avenger.

But I have to say, my favourite bit of animation in the whole episode was rather subtle. When Yularen informs Skywalker about Trench's existence, there is a little background shot of a clone walking down the stealth ship. I don't know why, but this jumped out at me as some brilliant animation. It looked like it had come out of episode three, it was that good looking.

I was a little disappointed that Trench died, the CIS needs more competent villains, seeing as the show isn't doing Grievous any favours. And the opening battle was a little confusing, before I realized that the "planet" behind Anakin's fleet was actually the moon. That moon was really close to the planet, I wonder if that would cause any major climate problems.

Overall, a really good episode. Great animation, great plot, great new (sadly one-time) villain. A solid one off episode.

I don't think so but I can't remember for sure...if there was, it was one of the pilots (a new one) for a few seconds before entering the cockpit.

Yeah, theres some interplay between a rookie Clone Pilot called Spark, and his new boss on board the stealth frigate.

How did he die? Ship exploding? Anakin stabbed him? heh

Also, according to TEA, Christophsis doesn't have any moons. Strange. Was the planet Christophsis or something else?

He died like Admrial Piett did, except you replace a suicidal A-wing with magnetic torpedoes. If the blast didn't vaporize him, the vacuum of space did.

And the planet was Christophsis. It is stated to be in the newsreel.

It's not confirmed if those specific clones are part of the Galactic Marines. Strangely in "The Clone Wars Campaign Guide," we see Nahdar Vebb healing a Galactic Marine, but he's wearing Phase II armor.

I really enjoyed this episode, with its nods to the cliches of submarine movies, complete with torpedo tracks, sonar pings, silent running and red lighting on the cloaked ship. I'm wondering if we'll get to see the ship in future episodes.

General Trench was an interesting villain, with a good attempt to do something different with character design and animation.

As well as the nods to the movies mentioned above, there was also a mention of a "mercy mission". Anakin also arrives as a lone passenger on a shuttle, with the ramp unfolding and a trooper standing at attention at the bottom of the ramp, foreshadowing ROTJ.

The preview for episode 17 looks promising, featuring the Jedi joining forces with mercenaries on Felucia to defend a spice farmer. Sounds like it'll be a Star Wars version of the Magnificent Seven.

I really like these CIS guys, but we seem to one seem them only once and then they vanish. Best bet is that Trench will either be caputured or killed in this episode.
