When I watched Overlords, I thought "Wow, this is all great food for thought! ...When do we get to the fighting?"

    ...Y'know, just like any other Star Wars fan. [face_laugh]8-}

I would imagine that only the Overlords (and Anakin) can destroy each other... given the Force needs to be ?knocked out of balance? in order for Anakin to restore it I think the Father will die and the Sister will be nothing more than a shadow in ?exile?. In turn the dark side will being to envelop the galaxy setting the stage for Palpatine?s exploitation of it.

My thoughts were "I don't care about any of this, get to the fighting".

    Hey i already did:p don't worry i won't continue it though[face_monkey]
I think that it's not a rule but truth simply because of their powerlevel- it's over 9000:p and Force is already out of balance in TPM i think

that comment reminds me of one Monty Python radio-sketch Death of Mary- Queen of Scots [face_laugh] stuff for stuff we'll never see thread thanks Gry[face_skull]

Ahsoka will end up having to save Anakin and Obi-Wan by destroying the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spir-...I mean and the Daughter---because of course Ahsoka is overpowered.

Perhaps... unless they are metaphors and only ?demigods? of the Force have the ability to literally ?alter? the balance of the Force... in which case Ahsoka and Obi-Wan wouldn?t have the ability...

Also what makes you think the Force is already out of balance... it seems very much in balance at the moment...

    I?m with you.

I suspect that the father will die of old age and because he can?t bear to abandon his attachments Anakin will refuse to replace him, from there the dark side & light will via for supremacy by seeking to gain the alignment of Anakin when he returns to the real world, this will add even more meaning to the ROTS scene when Anakin is debating what to do, when he chooses to help Palpatine he literally leaves the force in darkness because he has thrown out the balance toward the brother.

If the above comes to pass it?s simply epic story telling.

If it wasn't in balance there would be no need for a Chosen One.

One of the things I was discussing over at Rebelscum.com actually was the fact the Prophecy says Anakin will bring ?balance to the Force?, yet in Overlords the Force is already in balance. Initially I found this a confusing scenario... yet it seems bringing balance actually involves all of the events which actually occur...

What I seemed to be missing was the fact the Prophecy doesn?t necessarily mean ?the force is already out of balance and must be restored?... but rather it means ?the force will one day be put out of balance and must one day be restored by the Chosen One?. As such to get to that end and for the prophecy to take place everything which occurs needs to occur. The force needs to be knocked out of balance, the Jedi need to perish in the event, Anakin needs to fall to the dark side, and he needs to in turn destroy the Sith. In order for the prophecy to occur the Jedi need to perish in the process even though they don?t know it...

You have fallen into the same trap I did... the prophecy tells of the Jedi who will restore balance... unbeknownst to the Jedi the force isn?t already out of balance and ultimately the prophecy tells of the ?Return of the Jedi? following the ?Great Jedi Purge?... The Jedi don?t know they still have to pass through the terrible ?Purge? in order for the Prophecy to be fulfilled... they think it is something which will occur with no effect on the Jedi Order... in reality it speaks of balance being restored following the destruction of their order...

    It?s really difficult to explain...

EDIT: The prophecy was always destined to be fulfilled in ROTJ (that?s what it was ultimately referring to)... the prophecy was just so vague that no-one really knew when it would occur. They assumed it would happen without the order?s destruction... it is apparent they were wrong...

movies my friend the movies...... jedi talked about Chosen One prophecy in TPM and Qui-Gon especially believed in it- and it wouldn't make sense if Force would be in balance- no if prophecy tells that Force will return in balance it must have been unbalanced for centuries to make the prophecy interesting to anyone- ..... also Yoda says many times in AOTC that dark side clouds his vision that is message of the unbalanced Force i think- also altar of Mortis descriptions said conflict between siblings threatens to unbalance Force completely.... So there is no balance in the Force at least in real universe and now jedi think it's fault of the Sith.....

Mortis may be out of the time and space and balance-state already is ended in 'real life' when it still is true on Mortis- meaning that Anakin and others kinda traveled back in time to the parallel universe when all was like it was a long time ago in real universe- perhaps there once was more of this "bothsiders" who kept the light side and dark side in balance- i still say they were whills:p but anyway overlords, Forcewielders whatever-

they were destroyed in some horrifying civil war or something and only father remained (ok just a theory)- he decided to left the real universe and settled on Mortis with his family to gain balance there- but 'real universe' was now without balance- it changed from the dark side domination to the light side one and etc. for several centuries or even millenias... anyway then someone made the prophecy that one will come who will bring the balance- jedi thought it means killing the sith, sith thought it means killing the jedi, Father thought One would be his successor and all were wrong...... LOL perhaps Chosen One needs to slaughter all these problems- damn prophecy was very violent then[face_laugh]

I can?t remember anywhere where it states the force is currently out of balance, nor is there evidence of it. The prophecy is vague and even Yoda says it could have been ?misread?... I think it is apparent that it is about the events of Return of the Jedi and that the Jedi simply assume the force is currently out of balance... the clouding of the Force (at least in the films) doesn?t mean that it is out of balance (especially since it is lifted at the outbreak of the Clone Wars) and I don?t think the Jedi necessarily know it is out of balance (after all they think the Sith are extinct).

It is apparent that the prophecy is about the force being brought back into balance after being knocked out during this arc (or ROTS)...

They don?t really know what the prophecy is about... all they know is that the Chosen One will arrive one day. If the Sith have been extinct until TPM how could it have possibly been ?out of balance? before then... doesn?t bringing it back into balance involve destroying the Sith?

I don?t think they will make it that complicated and convoluted...

I always thought PT-jedi knew Force is out of balance but wondered why- then when sith was found they were like "That's it!" they're the problem.... then merciless hunt for sith and all the time jedi were also reason for unbalance themselves- i love the irony in that:p .....

I don?t think they even know what ?out of balance? actually meant... if they knew it would have been fairly impossible to misread the prophecy... I think they know it involves destroying the Sith and that it will bring eternal balance... however they don?t know how or why this is going to happen... unfortunately with this arc the tragedy is we know the truth and they don?t... the prophecy ultimately means they all have to be removed...

I think they were well aware that Force is not in balance- especially Qui-Gon who studied the prophecy more than others- but they did not know how to bring the balance back- anyway i get that impression- they talked about one who will bring the balance so there is no balance- and it is needed... i don't think balance needs elimination of any soul but elimination of wrong views- still both jedi and sith made a choice not to give up their wrong views for greater good - there was a cost that had to be paid in the end for that wrong choice....

Er... what about the dark side clouding everything? I wouldn't call that balanced.

"i think it's time we told the Senate our ability to use the Force is diminished."

I think you're correct in your guess that the Father will die and the Daughter will be exiled.

Certainly Lucas isn't afraid to tamper with the Saga; I said when we first heard about them delving into the Chosen One that I didn't want it to take away from Anakin's decisions in ROTS & ROTJ, yet so far it seems like those choices, while impactful on a small level, don't really make much of a difference on a cosmic or galactic level.

So is the idea after ROTJ that Anakin's Force Ghost heads to Mortis for retirement?

I don't think anyone of overlords can be exiled- they are already exiled when living on Mortis only place farther from the universe is netherworld itself so they either she dies, continues to live on Mortis or returns to normal universe which is not very possible with the saga..... exile is not possible... of course if she diminishes loses her power and becomes a normal being .... well that won't work very well i think....

Just kill her off -isn't that the usual way to get rid of the 'problems'? like Ahsoka[face_whistling] - except that killing of the daughter actually works:p LOL i start to sound like LukeTano.....that's seriously creepy:rolleyes:

forget the Ahsoka-comparison:D but i will say she dies and i'm disappointed if she won't

    -especially if Son survives also.......
