I was tempted to title the thread "Prisoners of Bad Coding".

I'll add the other junk later when I get home, unless one of the other mods wants to do it for me.

That's all I can access right now on their idiotic site.

The official site does seem to enjoy a bit of unintentional humour:

    Episode 4.3
    PRISONERS
    A Last Gasp of Hope!

    ...indeed.

Well, we know how this episode is going to play out. [face_tired]

I really don't want to see anymore of that "Lee-char" guy.

I just hope this is the last episode set underwater. It was a nice idea, but it hasn't really worked out.

The water effects certainly obscure much of the detail, and the lighting is very off...

Call me a landlubber, but I relish a return to terra firma and the clarity of deep space.

I want to see him once more after this- as Mon Cala king being brutally tortured and murdered by the Empire[face_skull] :p

One more underwater-episode definitely fills my quota as well- for now......Naboo-arc may still have some waterstuff as well- they really like marathons- now they made gungan-marathon:rolleyes:

They should have just made Lee-Char into Philip J. Fry instead.

And the winner for worst title of the year goes to: Evil Plans still, but Prisoners is almost as bad.

The TCW team is really terrible at designing new species aren't they? It's like, a Shark-Man! Yeah! Its a dude, except he's got a shark's head! And lets call his species something shark like! Get it? Cus its a shark!

    Prune Face.

    Hammerhead.

    Walrus Man.

Hell, the Quarren and Mon Calamari are just dudes with squid and fish heads. Mon Calamari means... squid. Star Wars has been doing this forever. We should stop bitching about everything this show offers. Not everything has to be so complex. Star Wars is best when its simple.

The fortune cookie is idiotic because kingdoms are inherited as well.[face_laugh]

Why didn't they say "crowns are inherited, respect is earned", or "admiration is earned"?

Why don't I have the job as the head writer, you say? Really not sure. Probably affirmative action. Too many bearded white men on the show already.[face_thinking]

The fortune cookies are probably a pretty easy job. All you gotta do is Google. Honestly I think Adult Swim puts more effort into thinking up their bumps.

If TCW ever goes back to Maridun again, they now have a model they can base the Amani off of. Because those are very Amani-looking sharks.

Christian Taylor is a bearded white man. Have at it, Garth. :p

This fortune cookie isn't half bad compared to some of S3's weird ones.

Consider what a kingdom is - it's simply a nation with a monarch at the head. In their constitutions, some monarchs explicitly derive power from the subjects. If not in writing, in practice many historical monarchies depended on the consent of the ruled. This was why King Charles I of England/Scotland/Ireland was sentenced to death by the English Parliament.

That's a kingdom distinct from the entity of "the Crown", the power of which is passed down through inheritance.

So, Prince Leech inherits the Crown. He still doesn't have the consent of the people of Dac (ie. the nation or kingdom) for him to rule them. He blatantly doesn't deserve it, but Prisoners will probably end with him getting it.

I'm assuming this episode will have the scene from the trailers with the giant clam opening and Lee-Char gawking at whatever mysteries lie inside. I hope the clam clamps shut on him and either traps him inside the clam or kills him.

What's with all the hate for Lee-Char? Because he's the only character in the arc that isn't some hard boiled badass?

Because he's a terribly written character that you just want to punch most of the time.

Personally, I thought the one for "Gungan Attack" was REALLY awesome. "Only through fire is a strong sword forged." ....or something along those lines. :p

I liked that one and -- "When destiny calls, the chosen have no choice." -- I think they may be my two favorite fortune cookies for the entire series.

It's mostly that he's made out to be a likeable character with hero potential, but in reality he has no idea what he's doing and yet gets credit for everything. His lines are all obvious and meant for nothing more than setting up the next scene. He's supposed to be a hero in disguise but he's one-dimensional and annoying IMO.

That's his characterization: oblivious and naive. He's this kid who is suddenly dragged into something beyond his control, and is expected to handle everything. He isn't a hero right now, he's supposed to be one. Ackbar is serving as a mentor of sorts to him, which is why he constantly emphasizes how everything is up to the Prince, he's getting him used to his role. By the end of the storyline he will accept his role as the new King and unite his people. Simple and effective character arc.

The only thing that really annoys me about him is his voice, but that's aesthetic.
