"Understanding is honoring the truth beneath the surface."

After groundquakes have devastated the planet Aleen, a Republic relief effort arrives, including the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. When the native Aleena's pleas go unheard, it becomes the duty of the droids to embark on a surreal journey through Aleen's subterranean world to save the planet.

    Thank you Mr. Sarth. =)

I'm feeling a renewed faith with this one. I've enjoyed "Duel of the Droids", "R2 Come Home", and even "Evil Plans" so I think I'll like this one best in the season so far. That fortune cookie is another good one and it seems rather serious given how unserious this episode is looking to be so far.

The pictures of Aleena remind me a little of a funky colored Io which is kind of interesting. I would like to see these groundquakes be a natural force. I would like to see a planet with recognizable geological activity like earthquakes and geysers rather than one that is simply melting in the GFFA. Granted extremes are more common IRL.

I'm afraid I really low expectations regarding this episode. Who, knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not counting on it.

It just seems to have several things going against it, what with the cooky droid adventure, underground magical people and comic-relief aleena...

Yeah comedy isn't one of TCW's fortes but episodes like these usually make up for it with me with pure gitty campyness.

The stuff it says when you click on the characters is kinda interesting.

"Groundquake?" What, does Aleen have "Skyquakes" and "Seaquakes?" Why call it a Groundquake when Earthquake is the proper term?

I wonder what part of the Qiilura campaign they were talking about. The militia movement by Zey and Etain to kick the CIS offworld, or the Republic subjugation when the farmers started fighting back?

I'm really trying to tell myself that the groundquakes are not being caused by the magic faries in the one screengrab, and that TCW would never tell a story like that after the episode about the magical Gungan, but it isn't working. [face_plain]

At least with the Wolfpack involved there is a chance this is the episode with Plo Koon fighting battle droids...

Actually, the proper term would be an Aleenquake since the quakes are not happening on Earth. :-B

    :p

So do they still podrace on Aleen, as the EU has already established?

Good luck with that. You've got a tribe of quirky dwarf aliens afflicted by groundquakes, and a race of mysterious glowing underground dwellers. Can there really be no connection?

    Wasn't it said there was going to be a podracing episode at some point? o_O;

Mysterious glowing underground dwellers? If this turns into Gears of War it might save the episode!

Hopefully this episode breaks the string of mediocre to bad episodes that have started this season off.

Okay...so I saw the native people of Aleen and thought, "They look seriously familiar". And then it hit me! They look exactly like Kazdan Paratus! Think we'll see him?

I'm going to think positively and predict this will be the best episode of the season to date.

Yes! I think so too. I don't know why, though. [face_monkey]

Perhaps because it can hardly get any worse? [face_laugh] How's that for positivity? :p

I'm hoping for a separatist super weapon, some kind of super-drill machine. [face_skull]

That planet looks really cool, by the way. (I mean the picture in the episode guide)

Me too -- it looks like it could be insanely creative in the oldschool cartoon way, so long as they don't rehash another predictably straightforward plot or do yet another "homage."

This could be the 'Hunt for Ziro' of Season 4... who knows! :p

I'm going to think more realistically and predict this episode will suck.

Funny how realism mostly equals pessimism. [face_laugh]

It's a lot less funny when you look at the track record of R2/3PO episodes.

    Not pessimism, probability.

I'm guessing they didn't want to make a reference to "Earth". I mean, you never see somebody use the term "earth" in Star Wars, correct me if I'm wrong.

Man Humble, whatchoo smoking? You been hangin round in Amsterdam too damn much. Realism is totally different from pessimism. Can't blame a brother for simply going on past experience and drawing the most logical conclusion.
