"Who's the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?"

C-3PO and R2-D2's bizarre caper continues. Forced to escape a Separatist attack in a Y-wing fighter, the droids visit the world of the Patitites, the odd planet Balnab, and the inside of a pirate warship where they are forced to fight in a gladiatorial arena.

No problem, since I'm not Garth. :p

Yeah, it feels like the "light-hearted wacky droids episode" is overstaying its welcome.

Patitites = Petit, get it?

Just when I think the fortune cookies are getting better, they start to suck again. [face_plain]

I'm not counting this episode out just yet, however. I thought Mercy Mission was going to be bad but it was really entertaining. This story doesn't sound great but we could be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, but I couldn't help but see some irony in that fortune cookie, given the frustration of several of the people who follow the show:

    <img src="http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb439/aranha1138/Fools.jpg">

I don't meant to be negative or start up anything. It's just something that occured to me.

What exactly is wrong with the saying? It sounds like a real saying and it's actually from the films.

I haven't been excited for an episode yet this season. Haven't rewatched an episode yet.

I'll try to catch up by this Friday.

    Not real excited for this.

Mercy Mission was surprisingly great but I don't know if lighting will strike twice.

I do hope the battle in the beginning is awesome though like The Zillo Beast and Padawan Lost.

After the last episode, I am a little excited. So long as there are no cliches and the story is good.....I could actually call the episode DECENT.

I am looking forward to the droid-pit scene that was shown in the trailers. Should be fun to watch! :D

Also, I think that Stass Allie has been retconned. I say this because the markings on Adi Gallia's clones are the same as the ones on Stass Allie's clones.
^So long as Adi doesn't die in this ep or anywhere, she will probably be the winner of this conflict. Can't say the same for Grievous though.....

That whole 'Garth' thing is cracking me up. How long before I'll make the mistake myself? [face_laugh]

I'm hoping this could actually be better than the previous episode. [face_thinking]

    *looks at FF55's signature*

Does Fisto actually say that: "Sometimes a second look usually pays off." ?

If so, that's just terrible grammar! [face_laugh]

It's a Contradictio In Terminis. Or just plain nonsense, if you will. :p

The "sometimes" wasn't in the actual line, so he IS being gramatically correct.

"No cliches"? SW is built on a bedrock of cliches.

They actually pulled a line of Obi-Wan's dialog for the fortune cookie? (It was a good line too considering the context)

I actually don't know what to think about that. I don't mind homages as I've said many times before, but I'll be more curious to see which fool is which in this episode.

I got Chinese for the first time in years the other day and the fortune was "Do not forget your takeout."

It seems fortunes are dropping in quality all over. :p

I like how these fools are following those fools who made this TV show in which some other fools are drinking poisoned tea.

    Nicely done, Gry. [face_laugh]

You....feeling okay there Humble? I'm pretty sure you had plenty of chances to tell me this before......I did have this in my signature for a really long time....

I'm actually not sure if he said that precisely. I just remember the meaning of lines, not the actual words. :p

I don't care about grammar. So long as people GET IT, all is fine. At least I didn't put "Second looks pay off usually sometimes."

Somehow I never noticed it before.

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a literal quote. I just thought it would be hilarious if Fisto actually said that. :p

I still think that Gry Sarth and Garth are two haves of the same being. Or alter egos of one another.

I fail to see how that makes it acceptable.

You don't try and justify a serial killer's actions by saying "Oh he's always done this, it's a part of who he is. I have no problem with him continuing to murder innocent people because that's just his character."

Yes, but you don't continue to be friends with someone once he's revealed himself as a serial killer and then continue to complain about his serial killing. SW is clichés, from the very start - some good, some bad. If you don't like clichés of either stripe, why do you like Star Wars?

It being "acceptable" is irrelevant. Star Wars is what it is. Would anyone complain that Toy Story 3 wasn't gritty enough or The Godfather Part II lacked great dance sequences? The familiarity of the Star Wars story is a big part of what appealed to people in the first place.

A princess is captured by an evil tyrant and it's up to an unassuming young man--drawn out of his mundane world of everyday concerns--to rescue her. He must draw upon the wisdom of his aging mentor in order to save the day.

    How is that not cliched?

    EDIT: Let me clarify:

"Cliche" is a pejorative; a better way to put it would be "archetype". Star Wars is archetypal, which means that stock elements come with the territory.

Yeah, that's exactly my point: that Star Wars is full of clichés (or archetypes if you prefer, though I see little point in differentiating between the two seeing as it's all a matter of opinion which word you use) and has been from the start. It seems we can both agree on that, but we have very different ways of approaching the issue. Maybe it's the way you wrote that, but to me it sounds like you're trying to justify TCW using clichés by claiming Star Wars has been clichéd since its conception. Justify = you are defending. And defending = you find it acceptable for them to continue using clichés. I, on the other hand, argue that repeat offences are not acceptable, it only taints their image further and detracts from my overall enjoyment.
