Full Series The Clone Wars: Episode 422: Revenge Discussion Thread

Its probably not TCW's fault there was no 1 hour season finale and these episodes were not aired back to back. You can chalk that one up to Cartoon Networks scheduling baffoonery.

 

The whole Hardeen arc was much better once one was able to view all episodes consecutively - so, yes, sometimes seeing the whole arc can improve the least-good episode.

Not sure yet if anything can improve Maul's intro, but the new episode can't diminish it any.

 

I, myself, would prefer a single episode every week for 22 weeks straight than have to wait through these monthly breaks. But, that's just me.

 

^And I'd like to see TCW air on Saturday nights under resurrected Toonami branding with a Sonny Strait voiced TOM. We can dream.

 

Yep, his intro into the series was done the best it possibly could be!

 

I thought Brothers was really good on its own. I like having a week to guess what's going to happen next.

 

I thought Brothers was pretty bad. After a second viewing, I amend that to "not-great." Heck, that's an improvement.

I thought Sam's portrayal was spot on. Both times that he said "revenge" I could see Maul with Sidious in TPM....

Maul came across as a complete mess and anything else would have been even more rubbish than the resurrection itself.

 

I thought he sounded like his typical self.

 

Safe to say, Darth Maul has a favorite word.


I cued up both clips: Maul with Sidious & TCW-Maul with Savage and I thought Sam channeled his inner Serafinowicz pretty well. I actually enjoyed the fact that the writers went the campy route when they had him say REVENGE twice in the last episode and will do so again as soon as he gets his memory back. Brothers was a letdown, I hope Revenge makes up for it....

Why do I have the feeling Ventress will team up with Obi-Wan?

I'm guessing they would have even more chemistry than usual.

 

I think we'll see the end of Ventress, too.

I just realized the two episode titles are Savage's and Maul's favorite words respectively.

Im guessing if they both survive, im sure they would let each other escape. In other words, they arn't going to start killing each other once the threat of Savage and Maul are over.

And if you think about it, Ventress and Obiwan share the common ground of having their jedi masters killed in front of them. It would be interesting if Ventress found out about the death of Obiwan's master...and vice versa for Obiwan.

 

Note, this is not a spoiler, just an observation from someone it appears has seen Revenge (it was linked somewhere here) - and the crossing-my-fingers he's right summation was this episode puts the last one to shame.
