Or its as simple as: Maul & his apprentice take over the Death Watch.
First you must gain power over yourself, then another...and so on.

It hasn't....none that I've seen. I guess you could say this will be their "official" fate.

But not to most of the viewers of TCW.

Even Piell died in Coruscant Nights, Adi Gallia died in the comics, etc.

Besides, we've established that there are more than 20 Jedi alive at this point, would it really be that hard to use someone else?

To you they did, but not to those who only watch TCW.

I actually haven't read the comics, and hadn't read Coruscant Nights until last week, though I watch each episode as it comes out. I still don't see why they needed that particular character. I know there will be discrepancies, and I can deal with that, but I don't see why those particular ones were necessary.

    Okay...

And that is the problem with TCW these days - it tries to satisfy hardcore fans and noobies alike.

It disregards masterpieces like "Obsession" with the notion that kiddies have not red the comics to care what happens in the show but at the same time it make references to the movies and nostalgia that the random TCW viewers do not know or do not care about.

And here is where the conflict arises:
Noobies will not care what happens to Gallia in "Obsession" but hardcore SW fans will care.

But with moves like the events on Florrum it is clear that Lucas does not care for what the fans care for so he is ready to satisfy newcomers to Star Wars at the expense of alienating hardcore fans

I'd be fine with ignoring Obsession, but only if there was a good reason and it would make a significantly better story. Also, Isn't Obsession already conflicting with TCW anyway?

    Yeah, Ventress...

IMO it is all avoidable and not so hard to make everything in SW fit into other SW things.

I like new material as well, as long as it doesn't come at the sake of old stuff.

Thought so. But Ventress's story is interesting and couldn't work with anyone else. Even and Adi could be replaced.

I am up to speed on the Maul arc; I don't think Death Watch is involved yet. IIRC Revival is about Maul's involvement with Onaka.

On the other hand, I see your point. This fortune cookie certainly applies to Maul's alleged intelligence and his plan to accumulate allies and power.

There is no Death Watch in Revival as far as I am concerned.

TCW... I have a problem with an unresolved Ventress. Not that there aren't problems with TCW's story. Nothing she's done recently could have been done by another character. Several other Jedi could replace Even and Adi in TCW

"You must begin by gaining power over yourself (Maul); then another (Savage); then a group (Hondo's crew), an order (Black Sun), a world (Mandalore), a species (The Death Watch), a group of species (all Mandalorians & Criminals)… finally, the galaxy itself." [face_devil]

Yeah, I think that at this point in the story the fortune cookie must refer to Maul and Savage.

Regarding Gallia, I haven't read the comics but this is a good example of TCW making things harder than they need to be. Unlike Ventress in her current character arc as portrayed in TCW, it doesn't have to be Gallia in the role of a Jedi who gets killed by Maul or Savage when accompanying Obi-Wan on this mission. It could have been one of a whole bunch of other Jedi, and then everyone would be happy.

Not if it was a character who didn't have an established past. But thanks for the generalization.

I hate being on the side of the blind haters for once but Gallia dying (I'm assuming obviously, I haven't read the spoilers) here completely destroys the good work of Obsession. At the same time I'll get over it sooner or later.

Eeth Koth would of been perfect to use here, but I feel like after Grievous Intrigue they'll be saving his demise to GG.

Adi's different deaths don't bother me; I'm not a big canon follower or EU fan, and we are at Season 5 of this show, so I guess I'm used to the canon-wrecking ball by now.

I understand why stuff like this bothers others though, and they should feel free to express it. It really doesn't make much sense.

So we're blind haters if we dislike the idea of Adi getting stomped?
