That's a really good idea, Quest. For the purposes of my own personal timeline, though, I'd really like to get a look at what this Annual has to say about events from the show taking place one year after Attack of the Clones...

the timeline is only very vague one page with major events from the whole SW Universe from creation of the universe to Legacy comics. thus it does not contain lots of details but mentions many things I would not have expected in there.

    22.1 Ansion
22 AOTC, Battle of Geonosis, Clone Wars begin, Marriage of Anakin and Padme,
21 Anakin knighted, Battle of Christophsis, Battle of Teth, Hunt for Malevolence, Battle of Ryloth, Second Battle of Geonosis,
    19 ROTS

events in timeline in exactly the order I menioned them here. I guess it will be very very different once TCW is done as a series and a new general timeline will be created including everything. BUT so far it seems TCW stuff happens in 1st and 2nd Clone Wars years with most older EU before the series in 1st year and only the stuff tied to ROTS after or if possible in between the series episodes. Like stuff where Anakin and Obi Wan are not starring in or where minor retcons suffice like Anakins status.

What were the points of info that allowed for the placement of these?

    Slaves of the Republic
In the Service of the Republic
    Heroes of the Confederacy
    The Colossus of Destiny
    Deadly Hands of Shon-Ju

I can't speak for most of those, but In the Service of the Republic had the origin of Commander Wolf losing his eye, which showed up in later episodes. Colossus of Destiny's only timeline indicator is that Ponds is alive, and is wearing very different armor (as is the rest of that clone group). Now, the armor could be an artist mistake, possibly due to lack of reference images at the time, but it makes sense that this other armor should go before the tv armor so it isn't like he switched back and forth.

A lot of the other placement I think is relative to when the comic came out in relation to what episodes had aired recently, as well as just being released after one that has been definitely placed. Case in point - Shipyards of Doom had to go between Procedure and the Malevolence episodes, so since the other graphic novellas had no indicators, they went in as soon after Shipyards as was reasonable.

On the timeline I put up, I've yet to place Slaves of the Republic and Hero of the Confederacy, but when I do, if there are no other indicators of when it should go, I'll probably place it relative to when it came out (which I think was kind of near the end of Season 1?).

Granted, a lot of stories without Ahsoka, including episodes, could be set before Cat and Mouse, but like 2ndQuest's timeline (which mine is based on), I'm going to follow the Cat and Mouse episode guide which said it was the earliest of the series, until I see/hear otherwise.

Well, Ziro dies in the next episode this, along with Ahsoka going to be growing up a little soon made the placement of Jedi Alliance a lot more difficult.

To be honest, she's not going to stay like that. She probably will be back to her tube-top a few episodes afterward. That's a huge jump from her last appearance being that young to her new look, if they keep her that way.

I was thinking of re-reading Slaves of the Republic this weekend, but I recall two points of continuity that may help placement (you guys decide how best to interpret them):

1- This is where Ahsoka learns Anakin was a slave. So any references to her knowing about that element of his past happen afterwards.

2- The lower wing was torn off of the Twilight. I think Ahsoka made some snide remark about it happening multiple times before. I know this happened in the film, has it happened elsewhere too? If so, her comment implies placement after these.

I'll come back this weekend or Monday with further comments, if any.

As long as that ends up happening, I have a retcon to fit in Jedi Alliance, maybe not the best, but i'ts feasible. I would like to know what everyone else thinks.

At the end of The Clone Wars film, Jabba says the Hutts will deal with Ziro personally. Yet in Hostage Crisis, he is in Republic custody. So here goes: Jabba imprisons Ziro in his palace, and the Hutt Council debates what to do with the traitorous Hutt. So he wouldn't reveal there secrets, it is in heavy debate. During the debates, Ziro is able to escape his cell, and makes it off Tatooine, and goes into hiding, during the first part of season 1. While he's hiding, he contacts the Separatists and offers up some information and evidence (the information the Hutts are afraid of), in exchange for protection. They then agree. He journeys back to his palace on Coruscant during the Nightsisters event, and makes it to his palace. The Jedi learn of his arrival, but are unable to do anything as they are busy with the Devastation events. Once he arrives, he's taken hostage by Asajj Ventress. They don't want him, just the information. He refuses, and she begins to torture him. That is when the Jedi strike team arrives. They save him, and stop Ventress. Realizing the Hutts couldn?t hold him, they imprison him and they don?t reveal it to Jabba. Eventually, Jabba learns (possibly through Aurra Sing), and has him broken out.

If Ziro is in his palace on Coruscant during Jedi Alliance, it might be better to assume he was under house arrest pending trial. The Way of the Jedi has Ziro still in his palace shortly after the events of the film, attempting to cooperate with the Republic.

That could actually work too. So then Jedi Alliance should probably go after the movie and sooner rather than later.

According to Wookieepedia, Jedi Alliance has a level set on Rodia. Is there any indication in the game if this is before or after Bombad Jedi?

I worked on the Battle of Rodia page :p but on topic, no, none, except POSSIBLY, unknown and not probable, but possibly... the Jedi slaughter Jar Jar's big green friend [face_worried] Though it could just be another of the same species (Hopefully) though it looks very similar... Also, the CIS has Christophsis in their possession again, at least a small part of it, and are mining for crystals there. Then there's the Ziro level. So, we need to figure out how Christophsis, Rodia, and Ziro's Palace fit in, and we should have our placement of Jedi Alliance, at least until something changes.

Can Jedi Alliance take place right after the film, though? Doesn't it contain the Malevolence's sister ship? Weren't those ships secret until the Malevolence arc?

I suppose it has to go...

    1. Film/Droid and Ambush Duologies
    2. Malevolence arc/Clone Trilogy/Gunray Trilogy/Ryloth Trilogy/Republic Heroes
    3. Jedi Alliance
    4. Bane/Ziro Quad

There is probably a gap between Malevolence and the Bane/Ziro Quad. The Rodia arc see's the CIS attack the world, so one would assume it is post-Bombad Jedi, as the world was wavering, and would not have been had it attacked by the CIS.

Still no clarity as to when the Mandalorian trilogy and duology go, nor Kamino, Fett arc nor Zillo and Virus arcs, either, in the grand scheme of things, though.

Query: Why is 'Supply Lines' so placed? If 'Supply Lines' is there, it constricts the timeline so Ryloth is taking place in the background of the Malevolence/Clone/Gunray arcs... which is mildly neat, but curious enough as it is. The length of the Battle of Ryloth determines the timeline, currently... curious.

I think it was because King Katuunko was immediately planning to meet with Yoda for Ambush, so the distance between that and the Ryloth trilogy was minimized as much as possible, given the flow of the webcomics. Considering how long the Battle of Jabiim lasted in the Republic comics, I think it's reasonable, but not common to be that long. We may have to move a lot of the graphic novellas that are arbitrarily placed based on their release date, to best minimize the background length of that conflict.

Here's my latest timeline revision. I checked out The Gauntlet of Death and didn't see any indicators of when it should go, so I put it after In Service of the Republic, as it is collected in the TPB. The only mention I saw in Hero of the Confederacy was that Ryloth was freed by the Republic, so I just put it after In Service of the Republic. I placed Jedi Alliance roughly were it has been suggested until we can confirm it. I also looked at Journey Through Hyperspace, and that can literally go anywhere before next week's episode. Also added both the Jedi and Sith versions of The Way of the Warrior to unknown (assuming there even is a story difference).

More continuity elements from Slaves of the Republic (including the ones I've already given; note that some of these are redundant, in that the implications of one may obviously reflect another):

1- Obi-Wan Kenobi is only just earning his reputation as "The Negotiator" (issue 1). Ergo, probably happens before he's ever referenced as The Negotiator in the show.

2- Ahsoka learns Anakin was a slave (issue 2). Ergo, happens before any time Anakin references his slavery to Ahsoka in the show.

3- The lower wing of Twilight is destroyed, and Ahsoka quips "...again" (issue 2). Ergo, probably the third time it happnens (didn't the wing break in some episode? Like Downfall of a Droid? I could be wrong.)

4- Separatist Leaders Shu Mai and Wat Tambor appear (issue 4). I believe this is Shu Mai's only appearance in TCW to date. However, Wat Tambor was imprisoned by the Republic in Liberty on Ryloth, and his escape/release has not yet been documented. Since he could be in prison for years (next appearance isn't until 19 BBY, probably Episode III, since the Boba Fett young reader books 5 and 6 will probably be retconned to before TCW). Ergo, we can assume that Slaves of the Republic takes place before Liberty on Ryloth, though it's easy to change this if Tambor's release is ever documented.

5- Miraj Scintel, Queen of Zygerria, was on the Separatist Council (issue 5). We will soon see the Separatist capital world, with the entire council together. I doubt Queen Scintel will be on it, so it happens before that future episode.

6- There is the implication (though not fact) that this is the first time Asajj Ventress encounters Anakin and Ahsoka since the film (or possibly Cloak of Darkness) (issue 5). Ergo, this probably takes place between Cloak of Darkness and the next Ventress/Skywalker duel.

7- Plo Koon shows up to save the day, and it's clear that he and Ahsoka know each other (first name basis) and Anakin doesn't give it a second thought. He knows of their past experience. Ergo, this takes place after the Malevolence trilogy.

My conclusion: using the most recent template (the post above mine), I figure that Slaves of the Republic 1-6 takes place sometime between Lair of Grievous and Storm Over Ryloth. It could easily fit anywhere in that gap, and since there's probably not much time between those episodes, it's probably concurrent with a non-Anakin/Ahsoka/Obi-wan story (like Colossus of Destiny.)

Great thorough work, Taral! Added it to my last post.

If anyone has the three comic stories I placed and wants to confirm them, I really only skimmed and didn't do a thorough reading.

One thing, possibly not important to this TCW timeline that I just realized - Isn't Sev in the scene with the other Republic Commandos in the upcoming episode? That would mean that the Republic Commando game probably takes place around (before and after), and maybe even during TCW.
