Full Series The Clone Wars General Grievous Positivity Thread

Hi. First thread on these boards. If theres already a thread about the clone wars General Grievous that isn't talking about how disappointing he is, can someone link me to that thread? Also, I'm not sure if this is a good name for this thread but it can stay for now.

I want this thread to be about General Grievous and all the good episodes he stars in.

 

Hi and thanks for the good thread title/idea.

I like GG in Clone Wars the most as it's what we see more of him in.

I liked him in "Shadow Warrior" and "Lair of Grievous"

Even though in Shadow Warrior he is defeated and used as a hostage trade I like how he was shown to behave and in Lair of Grevious again he's being deliberately played by Dooku but he manages to have fun even while the odds are sometimes against him and other times they're with him.

 

I also liked him in shadow warrior. His conversation with Jar Jar is pretty hilarious and I'm okay with the defeat because he killed Tarpals. I like Tarpals and it was sad to see him die. My favorite Grievous episode is either Lair of Grievous or Grievous intrigue.

I find it so hilarious when he rages and beats his droids down. I love most of his lightsaber duels (even though he is a coward). Lair of Grievous was cool because it's probably the episode showing most of Grievous, we don't really have that much canon content about him in the new canon. (Pointing at backstories and such, I know we saw a lot in TCW, but come on, he wasn't born that metal suit, okay?)

 

CIS Droid he does appear in Dark Deciples.

 

Grievous's defeat at the hands of Tarpals and the Gungans echoes Vader's defeat and capture of the TFU II I would say(Fisto and Webb and a bunch've clones almost captured Grievous as well before due to Dooku testing Grievous) and perhaps something similar could occur to Vader on Rebels, we do not know. You'd think though that he would've upgraded to having portable wrist shields(like the Mandos use) and incorporating Destroyer Droid ray shield to protect his open organs.

I know he appears in Dark Disciples. But because i havent read it yet i dont know if he duels anyone.

The duels that involves Grievous are great. I always looked forward to them. I agree with you about Grievous backstory. We only have lair of grievous so far.

 

One of my favourite Grievous moments is in season 3. In Arc troopers when he walks out of the trident with droids all around him, he decides to stop in his tracks ans shouts "Kill them all". The best part is that every droid ignores him.He stands still for a moment before he starts walking again.

Grievous chopping down Nighsister zombies left and right in Massacre has got to be my favourite moment of his in the entire series.

Another great moment with Grievous is in season 5. Before he duels with Obi wan he breaks one clones neck.

Grievous was awesome in ROTS and throughout Clone Wars, I loved how consistently he acted like an honorless scumbag! Matthew Wood always gave great performances too. "Arc Troopers" and "Massacre" were some of my favorite episodes, but I hope we haven't seen the last of him.

 

Speaking of Matthew Wood, what does he do nowadays? He had a large part in TCW because he voiced Grievous and the battledroids.

 

He's a sound editor at Skywalker Sound, so I suspect he's busy with TFA right now! Also, he voiced Grievous in Disney Infinity 3.0.

I met him at a convention in 2010, he seemed a nice guy. He wrote "Crush them!" with his autograph, truly inspiring words!

 

Lair of Grievous, Massacre and the Utapau arc had my favorite depictions of Grievous.

 

Those were great. I like how he´s depicted in Grievous intrigue.

Sorry I have just always preferred 2003 grevious.

 

The micro-series sold him well, not only as a killing machine but military strategist able to defeat more than one Jedi Master and Clones. Grievous reminded me of Lord Humongous when he gave that speech in the micro series before he attacked the Jedi hiding in the ruined Star Destroyer or Cruiser.

 

Exactly, it wasn't just that he was an unstoppable jedi killer, he was also portrayed to be a military genius, almost like a separatist version of Thrawn. The way he decimated the Republic on Hypori and Coruscant, not to menion that epic montage of his forces successfully capturing several Republic planets with that bad*** Separatist droid march playing in the background.
