Yeah, as if with a bounty hunter image it would be different...

He doesn't have to be in Season 2 to be on the cover! He's Fives!

Touche though, I concede....though Fives is a better idea than Yoda...Fives is a clone.

Okay, Ponds then, as a remembrance to the clones that died this season.

I hate to continue the price rant, but as someone else pointed out.. No directors cut episodes? And featurettes for just four episodes? It was nice seeing extra footage of how the episodes were originally planned to be shown, and we already know at least one of season 2's episodes had footage cut, so what's happening?

And the behind the scenes featurettes were really amazing, I loved getting a bit of indepth knowledge about the creation process after watching each episodes. Honestly, as much as I enjoyed season 2, without any of this stuff I don't really see the point. Hopefully it's just not a full list of content.

I'm very pleased that they're sticking with the S1 format of including concept artwork. It's a nice addition.

Maybe like S1, the disks will be based on the group of the character featured on the cover. Perhaps the disks will feature prominent Jedi members (Yoda, Obi Wan, Anakin).

I doubt it this time though. This cover has the same type of background S1 has and one character on the cover. All in all this is probably going to be the cover unfortunately. It's not bad or anything but it would of been nice if Yoda actually had a role this season.

And Fives? Fives other then the tattoos had normal white clone armor.

The big thing about Season 2 was supposed to be the Rise of the Bounty Hunters. So, why is Yoda on the cover? The cover seems VERY lazy, I could actually do better myself as a capable Photoshop artist.

Also, where are the deleted/extended scenes?

    Odd.

Yeah, that's why I'm hesitant to buy the DVD. Since I have them in iTunes, there's no reason for me to rebuy the same episodes for around $40. :p

I like the cover. Doesn't bother me at all. I'm glad they are sticking with the same box design. Definitely picking this up along with TFUII on Oct 26th.

Lots of comments about why Yoda is on the cover, but no suggestions that it may be a marketing decision to reel in potential buyers who are totally unfamiliar with The Clone Wars, but are familiar with Yoda.

And don't you think a Mandalorian warrior would be just the thing to grab the attention of a casual fan? I mean, who doesn't know Boba Fett?

    Or Captain Rex. :) :) :)

Seriously though from a marketing view this is a good move. Yoda is arguably the second most known character besides Darth Vader from Star Wars.

Err, Obi-Wan or Luke. But, of course, Luke can't be on the cover. :p

I would have liked to see Ponds or someone on the cover. Continue the DVD sets with clone images.

Does anyone know the aspect ratio on this thing? I wound up watching the torrents from the UK towards the end of the season and was really blown away by the wide screen look of the series (well, that and you didn't have those damn TV Bugs popping up left right and center all over the place). I cant imagine they'd release a cropped version, but you never know.

Horrible cover, could they have put any less work into it? And Yoda was hardly in this season.

This is widescreen. The UK episodes were broadcasted in widescreen, but the Cartoon Network were cropped.

I don't know why people complain so much about the "lack of work" on the cover. It has the same work level as the first season cover. My only complain is because it's Yoda, who has done almost nothing this season. But now that I think of it, neither did Cody on the last one.

Cody was featured prominently in a few season 1 episodes, like Rookies, The Hidden Enemy and Innocents of Ryloth. Yoda only played bit parts in season 2. His biggest role was in The Zillo Beast Strikes Back, where he wasn't more than a green pixel jumping around the monster's back.

"I don't know why people complain so much about the "lack of work" on the cover. It has the same work level as the first season cover."

The difference is that with the s1 cover it "clicked", this one just didn?t. The composition is just off this time.

So, wouldn't something like this be preferrable?:

Does anyone else find it really amusing that Yoda is one of the most epic, most popular characters in Star Wars and we're complaining about him being on the cover of something?

I guess he's not as popular as he used to be.

As for the cover comparisons themselves, they really don't look that different aside from the banner along the top of the first set, and by release time maybe the second one will have one too.

What's funny is when I saw the cover for the first set, it put me off. I rather expected Anakin or Obi Wan or somebody to be on it, but not Cody. After awhile it made sense to me, but I didn't let the cover by itself put me off from buying it.

I doubt anybody would be put off from buying the set because Yoda is on the cover. It's just that he's an odd choice of character, given his sparse presence in the season. I have nothing against Yoda or his design, I just think he is not very representative of this season, and his composition on the cover looks a bit off.

But, hey. It could have been worse, right? ;)

    Ok.

    A. I must know how you're doing that.

    B. Even though she wasn't in this season, a cover with Asajj would be all kinds of awesome.

    A. The mysterious arcane powers of Photoshop.

    B. Agreed, that cover does look sweet for a season that actually features Asajj.
