Looked it up, out of curiosity, and was stunned. Based on USA Today's descriptions/justifications given for each ranking, it is blatantly obvious that they are biased. I wonder who is paying whomever wrote that article?

Individuals, like us here, ranking the films is one thing, and it's always fun to read and playfully debate, as we are all entitled to our opinions and aren't beholden to anything. But corporate powers creating a ranking based on not so hidden agendas is loathsome, imo.

After reading through some other rankings, notably Business Insider's, which selectively showed audience RT scores for the 10 films, the only conclusion is that there is something rotten in Denmark, as it were.

BI showed audience scores for ANH, at around 96%, yet refused to publish the audience score for TLJ, which is like 47% and dropping. Yet they rank it 4th or something, while praising it's depiction of Skywalker. This inconsistency in providing already biased info was applied to all 10 films, including SOLO, which most of the world has not even seen yet!
And on four different lists I read, TPM was always ranked last, AOTC penultimate, and R1 at or near the bottom four, occasionally passing ROTS. TFA was always ranked above ROTJ and TLJ was ranked above ROTJ quite often, with TFA being ranked third quite frequently, much to my astonishment. I found that the TESB was always #1 and ANH #2.

This post has nothing to do with my personal rankings etc, but merely to point out that these massively viewed rankings by TPTB ought to viewed with a thoughtful and skeptical mindset.

If these corporate rankings don't have everything to do with making more money, then nothing does.

And, btw, I just found this interesting. Thank you all for inspiring me to research the topic more extensively.

It’s the start of the weekend for me today!

 

I remember ranking the movies on here a while back ago. I wanted to see if my opinion had changed over time so I went to search through my posts.

One of the keyword suggestions that came basically told me what kind of porn someone else who uses this device likes. I know, because on the rare occasions I'm bored enough to browse an adult site, I don't tend to type in anything in particular.
